Board with Rebel Admirals

By XR8rGREAT, in Star Wars: Armada

With the lack of much new products especially for rebels how are people finding new ways to use the few admirals that are any good. And with the lack of product availability it does make it hard to make some builds. I find the Imperials have far more usable Admirals but as the player base over here is very Imperial heavy I like to play the underdog. But I feel my lists are getting predictable.

Try Mon Mothma, Liea Organa, or Sato? These three I don't see played much and I'd be interested to see what they can do.

Likewise I'm wondering how good a Tagge fleet could be.

I feel Your problem is gravitating to “the few that are any good “.

Red Fish, Blue Fish, Crit Wish, Death Wish, as I originally coined the poem... But you know, Garm doesn’t appear there, and he won GenCon.

finding Success by treading worn paths is only one way - trailblazing through experimentation is another.

Cracken, Leia, Madine... Their secrets are still locked, it’s a natter if tweaking what you can to get the most out it the unique things they bring.

Madine is amazing, I also think Leia has huge potential especially if she gets a points adjustment.

I also think you overestimate how many "good" Imperial commanders there are. I see *maybe* 4 played regularly in the tournament scene. I love Tarkin but he isn't considered "good", he needs to get a points adjustment like Leia.

The key is creating a list to take full advantage of your commanders ability and that is just easier with some commanders then it is with others.

For me the question about Tagge is 'will he keep my ships alive better than Motti', and I don't think he will.

If they rewrote Tagge to be a reverse Palpatine - so you can recover one discarded defence token of each kind during the game - I think that would be as good as Motti.

Sato and mon mothma are good, not great, but Leia is just kinda sorta pretty bad

You are the reason I said "sorta pretty bad" instead of "unplayable"

She's not even innately bad, just really overpriced and has a tendency toward MSU fleets.

Heck, she does a lot of what Ozzel does, is less reliant on dice control than many fleets, and can run a 23 point carrier with squadrons 4 (EHB GR75.)

She also has good interactions with fleet commands and boarding teams (Hammerheads can bank a squad token and still keep flexible speed options.)

It's just a couple major problems that hold her back.

What's the opposite of rude then? Pleasant? Thank you? I should probably stop starting more s***?

Anyone remember Dodonna the oppressor?

Tagge is genuinely good

Please explain where and how. I’ve tried him...once. Had a hard time figuring out how to use him well, or, at all.

In my experince, Tagge was able to get some value off in a game where a doom pickle went straight for a intel officer on brace. He allows you to spend some of your tokens agressively at certain windows. To take advantage ether you or your oppenent have to be built for agrresive early engage. Which is often more easily avoided. Something of a theory craft spark is comboing with Pryce to trap your oppenent in one of two abilities. If they go aggressive, Tagge gets some value. If they slow, Pryce gets the setup she needs.

Could Tagge work with EST or Iden Versio? It's not like you have to be flying super agggressively to get attacked by squads on turn 2.

Deploy full speed. Engage EVERYTHING turn 2.
