In fact, I just flew 4 N-1s this week and won one of my games with 0 damage (thanks to a little help from some R2 units).
It looks like the LAAT/i is medium base, which will be nice, but I can't help but think of it as ground support and thus "what is it doing in a space battle?"

Agreed, but it makes me curious what large base the Republic might get? There’s the Llambda precursor at the end of Ep III that might fit the bill, yeah? Maybe a Naboo something or other? Anything else?

Yep. The Theta class Shuttle. I would almost guarantee this will be the Large base.
And it pairs nicely with V-Wings!!
The Nubian J-type is 78 meters long, so it would make a nice "small Huge" for the Republic.

The LAAT has been my most-wanted Republic Ship, since we already had the ARC. But crew are probably my favorite upgrade type in the game, for theme reasons, so I’m sooo psyched to have some options for the Republic. AND KIT, none-the-less! 😍

The second J-type would actually be a better small epic ship, imo. It can dock starfighters, so could have some of the support role that the gozanti does.
And this being Naboo, where their queen often pretends to be someone else, and someone else pretends to be the queen, I don't doubt some of those royals fitted their ships with hidden weapons. That's the option I'd suggest here, similar to what we have on the GR-75.

I was perusing the Asmodee catalog and actually saw the Nimbus-class V-wing on the list. I don't remember the number and definitely did a double-take because I didn't see anything else that hadn't been previewed yet.
