When is this going to get a reprint?

Good luck!

Kind of a circular problem, a game isn't as profitable as you want, but there aren't pieces available to buy.....

To be fair, FFG should be WELL aware the game isn't as profitable as it could be because of THEIR mistakes.

If they'd reprint product, release timely FAQs, print OP support, answer applications for regional/formal events and stop dicking around Armada would make a killing.

They were available last week on the FFG website, which means a fresh batch made its way through to distributors. Keep an eye out, abd in every case, talk to your FLGS about ordering specifically from their distributor, because they may be there, just no one knows.

I’m still to get a pack of Rebel fighter pack 2 haven’t seen them in NZ for the last 18 months.

Still kinda regret not getting 5. Got 3 already maybe next round. It does make me wonder if they will ever do another ship designed to be run in squadrons with the amount of problems they've had with this.

You mean, like Hammerhead Corvettes ?

How are you defining 'profitable'? I suspect FFG define it differently

With the new format of the "Upcomming" page I think its become nearly impossible to know what is being reprinted and when it might be available until maybe the last minute if they decide to add it at all.

I do feel bad for new players, I have extra uniques like Jerjerrod etc. that I try and hand out to players that are getting into the game but seem invested in sticking with it. About a month ago I did find an Arquitens in a store and I bought it. I considered selling it for a huge markup on E-Bay but in the end I knew it might be a while before I saw another one and I added it to my collection.

I would suggest calling around to other stores that you don't go to because they don't have a strong Armada community. They may have expansions sitting collecting dust and would be more than happy to sell them to you. It would require some work and persistence but I am sure there are unopened expansions sitting out there, you just have to find them.

I'm stll betting my money on the fact that we get Armada 2.0 in the near future and that is why we only get so few reprints.

Would be nice if they keep doing that. 2 packs and get 4 ships, most of a swarm. I just wonder why didnt they realize how big the light cruiser would be, it was a very baddly needed niche in the Imperial fleet.

Thanks for the heads up.

There is absolutely no need. While 2.0 was probably needed for X-Wing I would say anecdotal evidence tells me that X-Wing 2.0 was not as well recieved as FFG had hoped. I do not think they want to go down that road again.

I think it far more likely that we will get some point rebalancing and some more rules changes in the lead up to Clone Wars release in order to keep balance among 4 factions.

Armada is very well balanced as it is, X-Wing 1.0 was not. There is absolutely no need to go down the 2.0 route with Armada.

Now was X-wing 2.0 not well received or was it the App and stuff that went with it that was not well received? I have nothing to base this on except my thoughts as my group stopped playing X-wing well before 2.0. But the app and stuff that goes with it means that there is a zero percent chance that I will ever get back into the game (I am trying to get rid of my stuff and this is the only game in my life that I have sold off my stuff for.)

I don't get the hate for the App. (I also don't get the enthusiasm for it some people show.) To be true: I never played X-wing and probably never will. (But that's because of defense dice.) So I don't know too much about the functions of this App.

More or less you don't need it for playing, just for fleet building. If you don't want to play in tournaments, then you don't need to build "legal" lists. For casual games you just a friend who likes it to play it the you do. I heard that HotAC bears some cool adventures and even a possibility to play against an AI. And that would go even if you don't want to upgrade to 2.0.

I can understand if someone sells minis of a game he'll never play again. But to sell it because of the App? Can you explain?

The points are on the app, so if I just want to throw down some ships and go at it I can do that without the app, but that is not a way to play a semi-balanced game (semi as no balance system I know of take player skill into) I make a lot of my force lists for game at the store, where I do not have access to electronics (I do not have, nor do I want a smart phone, tablet or anything like that) I have a home computer, I play tabletop games to get away from electronics, and do not want them in my games. If you want to use them when not playing to come up with force idea's, do research on what is good/bad what ever that is fine (I do some of that, like being on here), but I do not want them at the game, I do not want to be required to have them (and I do not know if I even have anything that could use them).

Everything I need to play the game in the box(s)! It's as simple as that.

I don't want to depend on someone else supporting an app for a decade, just so I can be able to pull Armada off the shelf some day and play a few games.

Half the games of Armada I play, the only app I use is the calculator on my phone.

Of the prepared lists I bring for casual games, most get modified on site and between games! Honestly those little modifications and the advice of others I play against, is part of the fun of the game for me.

I really feel the same about the game. We have the RRG, the FAQ and the wiki and I'm fine with it. But I wouldn't sell all my Armada ships because FFG would decide to make a 2.0 version with points (and upgrade slots, I suppose) in an App! Would you?

I don't get this rejection of all game components for a detail I don't have to use, if I don't want to play competitively. [Even the rules and points adjustments in Legion were "for tournaments".]

(On the other hand, I think it's good to sell stuff you don't want to play anymore to people eagerly looking to get some. But I don't think X-wing has this sort of problem?)

There’s going to be a lot of angry armada players when they announce an app with the release of the clone wars. I think it will be pretty nice to have an app for the game. I wouldn’t need to try to remember the difference in point costs for cards they adjust and what not. I would welcome an app to Armada.

profitable= making money

FFG wants to sell out of all of its stock when it does a production run. They did that with the imp light cruiser, but it takes them forever to re-stock. Not as profitable.

The other issue is their production capacity is extremely limited and both X-Wing and Armada share the same facility and tooling. Not only does that delay reprints it also puts pressure on initial and reprint quantities.

No company wants stock taking up space for a significant amount of time as that is extremely expensive. The issue for me is capacity, although increasing that is also expensive.

To be more specific, how are you measuring profit?

I think you are measuring gross profit whereas they are likely measuring net profit per unit.

I really need more of these, managed to get one out of the last run, but I'd like at least another 2-3 of them

I am not selling because of the app, I am just 100% sure that I will not be getting back into the game because of the app.
