Saber Squadron Update

So yesterday this list was 200 even. Kinda an unreliable list because of reasons many have discussed before. I just like it because it looks good on the table and was a simple HS legal list, also Ace-y against low initiative, but dies in a dumpster fire against real Aces most of the time. I also like the variants with 4xSabers and one Inferno TIE/ln like Del or Gideon.

Now I suddenly have 20 points to spare! What variants should I try first? Just swap in Soontir with 3 point bid? Drop a saber for 4+2 and squeeze it to 6 ships?

Hrm.

Crack Shot and cut one Saber for a Seventh Sister or Fifth Brother with Sense? A TIE v1 doesn't fly too different, perhaps can bait nicely with those White evades, and Sense might help the list block against legit aces.

I don't think 5x Crack Shot/Targeting Computer necessarily makes sense, but it'd be a "pretty" list where everything is the same. Those TC could be ditched to bring Turr Phenir, but meh.

4+2 sounds awesome.

Two flanks of 2 Interceptors + 1 TIE.

Make 'em choose a side.

Zip the flank zap the jank.

Good tip on 5th brother now that points are out for him. Shockingly he's a point cheaper than 7th sis!? Anyway there's just enough room for this, which I think I'll pack for my next game night:

I figure his ability can stack some extra pain onto that Conc to deal a crit in addition to flipping a damage card. It might not increase the odds of hitting like 7sis, but he can really bring the pain when he does hit!

With 7sis I'm not sure if I'd rather trade down the missile (probably to ion) or trade the sensor for FCS...

Sadly the points are still short to get Del and Gideon both in here...

With either of those the best that can fit in is a Black squad with Crack for 26. At that point I think I'd rather just take two Black Cracks plus a baby bid and fly 3 pairs with the Crack pair starting in the middle.

It also just fits at 200 to take two 28pt Blacks with Intimidation...

Yeah, HS legal was a benefit of the naked sabers list originally, but not anymore. Now it's just interceptors because they're a personal favorite (and I have 5)

I like the Soontir idea. Him with predator will only give you a small bid. But he's the ace of legend. Having him with 4, 3 dice attack sidekicks is actually kinda scary. You can use him as a flanker, and run the squad in. Make your opponent choose. And not choosing the ace usually ends poorly, but how do you ignore 4 shots like that

Crack Shot/Targeting Comp or Trick Shot on the lot?
