Scum new points. Thoughts?

scum got 111pts of buffs. Most Buffs of any faction.

Most impactful buff?

Contraband Cybernetics down to 2 pts. 14/19 scum ship chassis can take illicits.

Significant buffs that will help immediately?

Jump5k getting Cannon slot is significant combined with buffs to all jump5k pilots.

Generics in general getting decent buffs, Tugs, Z95s, Mining guilds, MA-3 interceptors.

Titles esp Lando's Falcon, Punishing One.

Han Gunner down to 10pts.

Thoughts?

Points sounds nice. After that you see what is left for you in hyperspace... and that is not nice

It's a mixed bag. Hyperspace looks bad for scum, but who knows. Glad to see IGs go down, still think title should be 0 points. It is more a configuration than title.

I cant complain about the posts drop.

Fangs are in except for Old Teroch. Firspray, JM5K, M3-A, most TIEs but not Seevor or Proach,

Starvipers and Z95s are out. All the Solo crew are out. Marauder is out.

All in all, seems like Hyperspace is going to be a lot different than extended. Which is maybe a good thing?

EDIT: 1300 is also out.

Some comments in my post above.

One of my generic lists now suddenly has 11pts to spare, neat.

I have played around a lot with 2 generic Kimos, with MGTs, Scyks and Kihraxzes. There some potent options now.

Sunny only 27!

Serissu +1 is less than I expected. Seevor unscathed, unexpected as well. Even Torani unscathed, maybe FFG finally is no longer using a hammer, but surgery tools, when changing Scum points.

Not interested in Mando ships and flying sneakers, so I do not play Scum in HS (other factions instead), but loosing the Coordinator, and not having force, hits Scum hard, I'd guess.

Nope. They're gaining Vonreg, but losing Quickdraw from HST.

  • One of my lowkey favorite Scum Lists (Fenn Rau with Scyks: 4 Ion Cannon Spacers, or 3 with Autoblasters Sunny) just got 8 points to play with. Papa's got a brand new bid.
  • 4 Skulls looks like fun.
  • Dengar... do we just skip the title now? Run Ion Cannon or Autoblasters instead, maybe take a crew?
  • Also... I'm horrible... I'm thinking about 4x Jumpmaster. Ion Cannons and Contraband Cybernetics? Autoblasters and Hull Upgrade? Doesn't sound that bad. Having cannons to handle front arc for strong time-on-target seems nice.

It's funny how the most buffs of all factions still doesn't seem like enough.

Granted, that's probably because Scum is the biggest faction, so you might expect the largest sum of changes.

And there's also a couple of big ones that we'll need to see the impact of. The JM5K is huge, but it's still a terrible chassis, IMO.

No changes to Fenn, Boba, Guri and 4-LOM means that that really strong Scum list is probably still too elusive.

Curiously, 4x Star Vipers, the only Scum list that seemed to do close to well lately actually got cheaper.

Palob is still unplayable, though I'm not sure how many people are actually unhappy about that. The Scyk still won't be good even if you can squeeze one extra into a list.

The only area I'd be curious about testing out is those reduced cost YV-666s with Bossk deploying from them in the Z-95. Maybe pairing it with an IG-88 and IG-88D crew on the Hounds Tooth?

Still not sure it really has the legs though.

Cartel Marauders with Contraband Cybernetics? Could be a decent list against the 5Xs we're about to see.

Boba and Guri received indirect buffs. They stayed the same, but both Slave-1 and Virago dropped in points.

My extended list suddenly had 11 points to work with. Very surprised. Problem is, I am still working in what to do.

Boba/Fenn look better in Hyperspace if you are good at flying versus swarms.

I’m very excited for Scum’s new points! And I’m utterly flabbergasted at giving the JM5K a cannon slot. That’s probably the most elegant “fix” that they could’ve applied to what’s otherwise a pretty broken (in the bad sense) chassis. Bravo, FFG!

The Hyperspace picture is a lot more fraught. Hyperspace has never really appealed to me, and blacklisting a LOT of stuff that I either already enjoy or would enjoy flying more doesn’t help bring me around.

But as a die-hard Kitchen Table Commando, this eases the pressure on all sorts of lists I’d been wanting to try against my buddy. It reduces my buyer’s remorse about some recent M3-A acquisitions. Really my only complaint is that my poor G-1A wasn’t given any goodies (other than the title cut). Generic G-1As are going to remain hard to justify when other cheap 3-attack-dice options just keep looking better and better.

I agree.

Most of the changes are good, except for IG-88. 1 point less is nice, but the increase cost of cannons kind of nullifies that. In my favorite build, it actually adds 2 points total, which is a bit of a bummer. Still, it opened up other possibilities to look into, so its not all bad.

To the point of the thread... I am very pleasantly surprised on the whole minus a couple of minor things that really don't offset the positives done in this points adjustment (Weapon Hardpoint FAQ ruling and Ver Turret gunner going up again being the 2 issues I have). Scum Z-95s are no longer paying the slot tax, M3-As are actually priced decently relative to other similar ships in other factions (still not liking them being the same price as the more maneuverable TIE/Fos but this is a **** of allot better than a couple days ago when a Scyk was more expensive then the more capable /Fo), Executioners went down a bit, etc. I'm honestly a bit floored. FFG broke from their own trend of hammer the top list in faction regardless of its overall performance and actually are giving S&V a chance. Wow and thanks!

key buffs for me are han gunner, contraband as mentioned and jump5k esp cannon slot but also cheaper cost for each jump5k pilot and punishing one title.

Surprised but happy they left capt. Seevor alone and buffed generic fangs and starvipers.

Hyperspace scum are I think worse off with rotation of starvipers among others but as mentioned already elsewhere Boba, guru and Fenn are still ok.
