POINTS ARE UP

I am fine with a limited format. But, some of the choices for the ships to be Hyperspace legal feels weird. Empire in particular feels screwed out of hyperspace.

I don't know about that... some other factions are losing their good init 6 aces, but Vader is still primed to murder. Given that, losing afterburners isn't that big a deal. Maarek is an even more affordable pocket ace, with new missiles coming. Not facing the full fury of Nantex anymore (with the loss of ensnare). Etc.

Losing some favorite pieces doesn't mean the faction won't be good in novel meta of hyperspace, and opponents losing some of their treasured pieces could go a long ways to giving empire an edge.

Empire's game plan in Hyperspace will be different , not worse.

Yes. Want more consistency in Hyperspace choices. Should be more simple. This is a weird pick and choose format that nobody prides themselves in figuring out.

Sear went up to mind-boggling 45p and they didn't give him a Talent slot...

Might just use DBS-32C (2p cheaper) or just the generic belbullab as tactical relay carrier

Hyperspace: is blunt shadow of Extended

People: Stupid Hyperspace! Why would anyone play it?!

Hyperspace: becomes unique list building experience putting up a challenge and forcing new approach

People: Stupid Hyperspace! Why would anyone play it?!

Breaking news: y'all Hyperspace illegal ships are not being confiscated. Use them all you like in Extended. Hyperspace is now about squeezing something out of limited resources given.

BTW, usually someone makes a spreadsheet listing all the changes, and then I lean over to cheat off of their test to fill out that info on the wiki Changelog page. If that's up, can someone link me to it? :P

Jumpmasters seem like they'll be interesting... I don't know how that's going to play out in the exotic HS meta. Maybe they'll find their niche, and maybe a pilot other than Dengar will be remotely viable.

YASB has FO tie/BA having fined tuned thrusters that give BR or TL. That's a mistake right?

Also Deuterium Powercells no 2 charges.

If so, someone tag Raithos. (Need confirm)

The thrusters are correct.

the fak really. thrusters give TL. Okie. I'll tell my car engine that.

I probably wouldn't mind Hyperspace if we were given a clear vision for it from FFG. It seems very arbitrary at this point. ****, it's been arbitrary from the beginning. (Is it a format for 2.0 only releases? Nope. Is it a format for new players? Not really.)

Cluster Mines 8pts.

Not sure if that is worth it. Prox is only 6pts, and has a less elongated coverage, but is bigger at center. Has also 1 guaranted damage, on average 2 damage

If a small base ship clips a Cluster mine's

1 part, then average damage 1

2 parts, average damage 2

all 3 parts of a cluster average damage 3.

But can in all cases also be zero!

One advantage of a Cluster is, that parts of it stay on the board if it is only partly crossed.

Correction You should not do math late in the night :) and simultaneously confuse rule changes

Things that are too cheap:

- FREAKING MAG PULSE WTF

- Inquisitors

- Probably some I1-2 generics

- Rebel Falcon

- Stabilized S-Foils (maybe)

- All cannons (now even worse)

- probably some aces still, not sure

Things that are too expensive:

- Ruthless

- Lock-based missiles

- Kanan

- Poor Ezra Gunner

- Gunners and force crew in general

- Some I3 generics (esp Gamma Ace)

They ALWAYS said it was an alternative competitive format with a curated, limited selection of ships that would rotate in and out, giving an alternative and unique meta for each competitive season.

Literally no idea how this is confusing, but I typically play extended anyway. Now I suddenly feel like trying it!

It is clearly the format of whatever they find comfortable putting in it.

On-stream it has been said they look forward for it to be a memorable experience. Sort of "remember early 2020 when Hyperspace was all about XYZ and counters to XYZ? Cool, cool...".

Which ships would they choose to rotate in and out, and why?

Knock yourself out.

Whatever they want? Stuff that makes for tough/interesting choices and encourages non-meta approaches and creativity?

It made sense at the start to focus on 2.0 stuff to help new players in. Now they diversify since it provides a more interesting challenge.

Is that an answer or a question?

You can fit all 3 named B Wings with Configuration, two of them with Autoblasters and Jake Farrell.

I need to sit down and think through the activation order but thats looking at 5 shots from 3 B-Wings where most if not all of the dice are double modded.

People?

People are different. That's why there will always be complaints, but if you look at the details, you will notice that its different people that are unhappy depending on the change. There were probably people who were happy with Hyperspace previously that are no longer due to legitimate complaints with the changes made. These are not the same people that were complaining about how Hyperspace was before the changes.

You can't please everyone at the same time because they have desires that do not align with each other.

Anyone up for 4 Heroic/Hull Red Expert T-70s? Should be rather a slog to grind them down. 8 HP behind 2 Heroic Greens is no joke.

Well, well done FFG. You’ve basically murdered everything I liked playing in hyperspace. I mean, what the ****?
Can I get a refund on my System Open ticket? They’ve killed everything except CIS swarms. Guess that’ll be fun for list diversity. But at least I can fly 5 x-wings. Big woot.

I'm not looking forward to the many wall-of-meat/zombie lists that are coming, though my distaste for bulk/beef lists is already well-documented here and will probably be used to scuttle my election chances when I run for President of X-Wing. ;)

Along those lines: Mixes of generic Kihraxz and Kimogilas might be popular, and a decent way to match the 5 x-wing lists.

I'm happy about the Composure nerf for Bastian. Old enemy from the republic beef lists, happy to see him fall. >:) (maniacal laughing was edited out to conform with FFG's terms of service)

Wullffwarro War Crimes went up one point... because of the shield regen. It's odd, people are upset over the R2 Astromech increase but it wasn't by much... I'm thinking of tossing the regen anyway for Magva on Wullff instead, but that makes him terribly expensive. More shields for Wedge and an engine upgrade for Jan might be the best next step, like this .

I haven't been through all the changes, but so far I think this has been good for the game, even though many of my lists are in tatters.

I've also noticed that YASB doesn't have a way to load a list that's hyperspace without shedding the pilots and cards that are no longer hyperspace-valid, so I don't know what's being removed... :(

Frankly, the big thing that has me scratching my head with Hyperspace is the war against large base generics. A lot of the other single exclusions make sense to me, in what they are doing, but that one is a mystery to me.

Limiting the format to 4-5 ships is always going to cause frustration when rotation happens.

6 Strikers! Yey! And with points to spare! Hyperspace legal! What world is this! Fly them gloriously into each other and off the board! Go now!

Spotted this while perusing the points:

" * indicates "Dark Side" "

Anyone else notice it?

Yes. And in Rebels & Resistance it specifies “Light Side”
