New Ships Spoiled from Asmodee

By AngryAlbatross, in X-Wing

It's very interesting to see illicits with an FO ship. I wonder if they're redoing the way illicits work...

  • Small-base Droid Gunship checks out. The things aren't really that different in size from TIE/x1. Nice wide arc. I can't see if that's 2 or 3 red dice, but even 2 might be interesting. From having flown a lot of TIE/sf, having a lot of arc coverage on a 2-dice gun is still quite good.
  • Medium-base Xi seems nice (at least, medium-base price). First Order could use a ship like that, a crew carrier that's almost surely a lot cheaper than a Upsilon. Illicit upgrade in there is... unexpected in my mind, but hey.
  • Large-base LAAT surprises me (or large-base price ...turns out, medium base price). Turret-based is also a bit of a surprise, since it does have those prominent front-cannons. However, it also seems like it fills a role the Republic didn't have yet.

Overall, no obvious big surprises when it comes to actions.

****, is it just me or does that droid have a larger bulleye? Very nice regardless.

The size of the dial next to the base plate suggests medium size for Republic and FO.

It's just small base.

Definitely medium base.

Droid Gunship has blue hard 2's because Droid.

It also has a wall of text for a ship ability and a flippanle config because CIS

See that makes so much sense. When looking at it fast, I thought the droid was medium base and that the bulleyes was larger. Make sense, when I think about it now, because of the width of the template and stuff. Excitement got the better of me :P .

All the ship look really good and clean thought. Very nice, even the goofy looking droid.

That one dude from episode 8 probably uses them.

Not sure what the deal is with the I0 fo ship. It seems to have no primary weapon but an extra green die. Definitely interesting to see ffg exploring support-only ships that don’t attack (if that’s what it is).

I mean, it looks like that. But it's also a large-base $40 MSRP. I'm personally more inclined to trust the price than the picture, but we'll see. I don't mind being wrong, since I think my reasoning is sound.

the LAAT looks like it will be a nice ship to fly though would love more info on what looks to be a config option for it

It's almost surely a remote of some kind, like the DRK-1 Probe Droids.

I thought the same thing at first, but it's a remote for sure. (like the DRK probe droid.)

Yeah, way more exciting news than the official article of the day :)

I like each of these more than the FO interceptor 2.0

Laat is one of my must haves no matter the stats and points. Sculpt wise it’s too important.

Calling it now; the flipped crew card on the LAAT spread we can't see is Yoda

I really REALLY hope so!

No notches for movement. Means it's not launchable and, if it does move, it's not using templates. My suspicion is some kind of listening post deployed st setup.

Droid ship can stop and 5 straight

The photo clearly shows the scale and type of base. Regardless of the price, which agreed is more expensive, perhaps it was an expensive sculpt.

It's only non-red bank is a 2, droids have weird dials.

Still doesn’t make sense for the LAAT to have a turret. Or rather I’d prefer to see a printed forward arc (or double arc because technically the LAAT has a rear gun that never gets used) along side a double turret arc with the presumed bubble turret config. It’ll be interesting to see how it all works.
