Does anyone know the status of the single game mats? My game preorder is being held up by them and am wondering if I should just remove them from my order at this time or wait a week or two longer. Has FFG said anything about them?

What I’d like to know is what is the issue with game mats? Why are all there game mats released months after the actual game? One would think that if you know production on these thing takes longer then the actual game they would order them ahead of time, right??? Sorry I know we are talking about FFG here. I’m just rambling after a couple martinis.

You have a legitimate point. For L5R, it launched alongside playmats (at least they had them all at GenCon that year). Not sure why it would take 2-ish + months to get them out. I ended up going to Inked Gaming to get my own made.

This delay is not typical. L5R and Keyforge had theirs available when the game launched. I'm pretty sure Arkham Horror did as well, though I don't remember for sure.

If AH:TCG didn't have it at launch the mat came out pretty quickly after launch because I remember being grumbling about it being out of stock prior to the first cycle coming out.

I wonder if FFG changed where and/or how these play mats are getting produced.
