I mean techincally Snap can use it nearly every turn (and you can plan for it just as well as this ship can) to get yourself a lock and focus. But he hasn't ruined the Meta or priced the card out.

Snap is not an i6 with 3 agility and an Evade action.

No, but Soontir can do the same every turn for a stress (evade action, reposition to get the free focus) and is an i6 with 3 agility and doesn't lose a dice from either of his stats each turn to do it.

That gets the history slightly wrong. FFG rewrote the rules on Failed Actions , specifically so that Composure wouldn't trigger on a failed red action. It used to be that a failed red action wouldn't give stress, so Composure worked.

While pricing Composure out might not be viable, they could "rules" it out again. It's pretty clear FFG doesn't really want folks using Composure for action efficiency: only as training wheels. We'll see if they can get put their will into action in the rules.

I feel like they could, but I also don't think it's strictly necessary.

Intentionally failing actions to get a focus typically isn't much different from focusing in the first place, except in the sense of "failure insurance" as it is intended to be. The few exceptions that actually allow token-stacking (AP-5 Hera failing coordinate, Turr failing boost/roll, Holo failing roll) actually take as much work to fail as otherwise, and they don't really create any potent token-combos.

Not only that, but they already have trouble capitalizing on it. Hera does want focus/reinforce, but the shuttle could do that by being undocked anyway (and would probably be more efficient). Turr does want focus/evade, but he's already super weak, and setting up to fail a reposition isn't always easy, especially at I4; it becomes comparable to blocking or dodging behind obstacles. And Holo can't even keep the token most of the time.

I don't see it as problematic, just an interesting talent choice with marginally above-average use cases.

So with the latest rules reference, composure no longer works with the /ba to token stack, as it shuts off other actions after the focus. So all aboard the daredevil train!

Sure would be sweet to see Daredevil getting some table time.

But the more I think about it... Vonreg does want the bullseye so Crack Shot/Predator, and Holo can probably offload stress when it comes to Proud Tradition.

Can see that, but just imagine, 1-hard into strain/TL, into 1-hard boost to dodge arcs. Then clear it all with another 1-hard next turn! Going to have to try it.

Daredevil certainly has a lot going for it. Price went down to 2, TIE/ba don't really mind taking the stress, and looking again, looks like both Predator and Crack Shot are out of Hyperspace. Unless going all the way to, like, Outmaneuver, there's not really a great option for Vonreg.

I imagine we'll see him mostly naked or with power cells. 9 points seems good for how much flexibility they give him.
