Accessories & 3D-Printed Ships

By CinnaWolf, in Star Wars: Armada Painting and Modification

What accessories should I try to get? I already have enough dice, and I have most expansions.

Also, I don't have the skill to make my own ships, is it worth it to buy custom 3d-printed ships?

Generally commissioning custom ships costs in the hundreds of dollars. But 3d printing ships generally are like 15 dollars for a small and up to a hundred or more for larges

Depends? What do you have in mind?

Acrylic tokens as a must have id say, long term less chance of damage

Tokens, range rulers, ship shield dials, etc.

These can come in handy if you play generic squads or small numbers of aces. It cuts the number of times you have to fiddle with the squadron in the game state (basically you only have to touch them when the squad moves).

I'm always more than happy to discuss the rabbit hole that is 3D printed ships!

I just did some sorting of my factions and sub-factions.

Aside from the ability to triple the number of both ships and fighter units in the Rebel and imperial factions, I am up to 17 additional factions. More if I were to split the Pirates and Mercenaries into individual organizations, like the Black Sun, Mandolorians, Zann Consortium...

Here is a list of the factions I have in the works so far, just to give you an idea of your options:

1. Republic

2. Separatists

3. Pirates and Mercenaries

4. Imperial Customs

5. Mon Cal defense fleet

6. Sullustan Home Guard

7. First Order

8. New Republic

9. Imperial Remnant

10. Hapes Consortium

11. Corporate Sector Alliance

12. Mining Guild

13. Local Sector Defense Fleets (for campaign play)

14. Hutts

15. Corellian Sector Defense Fleet

16. Sith Empire

17. Old Republic

While this is by no means the limit, I believe it conveys the staggering number of options available. Wether you want to add a unit or two to the base factions, or you want to expand the game to encompass the entire Star Wars Galaxy
