Is Slam or Self-Destruct blockable?

By matrix211v1, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Hello!

For example, Chewbacca has the ability to "Slam". It reads: Choose 1 adjacent hostile figure and roll 1 red die. That figure suffers < Dmg > equal to the < Dmg > results.

My question is, does the opponent get the ability to defend against that? I also noticed something similar with the Probe Droid Self-Destruct.

Trying to figure out when the opponent needs to use Defense or not.

Thanks!

No, neither Slam nor Self-Destruct are attacks. Therefore the figure on the receiving end cannot defend, neither by rolling dice nor any other means (e.g. fixed +1 block). They just take the damage.

Damage said:

• If a figure suffers <dmg> outside of an attack, the <dmg> is not prevented by <block>, and the figure does not roll defense dice.
