Considering they are pushing the boundaries of the game already with the Risky Business scenario and The Wrecking Crew -- introducing new ways of playing encounter decks that are not entirely predictable from the rules as we already knew them -- I keep hoping for a story box in the type of Netrunner's Terminal Directive. Though it doesn't look like we're getting that, I'm confident the campaign boxes will play out in new and interesting ways.
Story Box speculation

My impression has always been that it’s not so much the introduction of different mechanics that differentiates a villain pack from a campaign pack; just the inclusion of additional linked thematics.
As an example: You could have a Green Goblin pack, which is just him, and you could have a Spider-Man pack, which is just that hero....and you could have a Sinister Six pack which has a series of Linked scenarios involving one or more of those villains, and that comes with Spider-Man.
I’m inclined to think it’ll be team oriented, probably X-Men.
I'm still thinking it's a GotG expansion. We've had Avengers, Inhumans, SHIELD, Defenders and a lot of the art features Guardian characters.
I think they could finish the Avengers Arc: The current Avenger Rooster in the comics is Cap and Cap, Iron Man, Black Panther, She-Hulk, Black Widow, Blade and Ghost Rider. The last two are missing and Black Widow only an ally, so that would be three Heroes.
Then again, they could save that for individual Packs and put in the X-Men, setting up a broader scope of single pack expansions.
