Ghost Rider

By Janaka, in Marvel Champions: The Card Game

If/when FFG release a Ghost Rider hero pack, which Ghost Rider are you hoping for and why?

Johnny Blaze

Danny Ketch

Alejandra Jones

Robbie Reyes

Frank Castle

My preference would be Johnny Blaze, because he's my Ghost Rider (as in the comic I read as a kid) and he rides a bike not drives a car or cosmic sled thing.

It will be Robbie or Johnny.

None of the others are well known enough to be the first Ghost Rider in the game.

It will definitely not be Frank Castle, the first version of Frank will be Punisher, not Ghost Rider

Current Ghost Rider is Robbie Reyes, iirc.

Yeah it is

Never read any current Ghost Rider so Johnny Blaze is Ghost Rider to me.

Never had strong feelings for the character one way or another. I'd prefer Johnny but wouldn't mind one of the others.

Same, Blaze has always been my Ghost Rider.

Though I'm pretty well disposed towards Robbie Reyes too, but only as backup. Blaze comes first.

I should think FFG will go with the current comics Ghost Rider, if and when he comes into the game.

For example they went with the current Nova. The game feels very current comics to me generally.

Robbie Reyes seems more likely, due to his involvement in Agents of Shield

Robbie is the current Avenger, as well as (I believe) the one whoโ€™s been in card art so far.

It is Robbie Reyes on the Avengers Assemble! card, true enough

Would be a shame, because I would prefer a biker Ghost Rider

I would not, because to me that hero is irreversibly damaged by an insufferably cheesy Nicolas Cage. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

This is the downside of not being a fan of comics, making much of my representation of Marvel content dependable on cinematic productions, both old and new. However, I have to mention an unexpectedly positive resolution to a similar situation: the complete and utter redemption of Daredevil, who for a long time remained polluted in my mind with the recollection of very bad movie and a very bad Ben Affleck. Netflix comes to the rescue here, because thanks to the Daredevil series, which I finished watching recently, it has me wanting for more now. The incredible depth and bad-assness the Netflix character has makes me smile with joy anytime I play the Justice aspect and see his ally card or the new Followed in my hand.

I still don't think that a hypothetical Ghost Rider on a bike taking part in Disney's MCU would ever redeem him similarly in my eyes though. I find leather-wearing bikers sufficiently uninteresting for me to buy a MC hero pack only for the aspect cards and never, ever play him.

The only ghost rider I care about is Danny ketch! He was g.r. when I started reading comics. The Johnny blaze g.r. looked really goofy to me and probably to most people, that's why in the movie they made him look like the Danny g.r., even in the comics they just started drawing him that way. But right now in the comics Johnny blaze and Danny ketch are both starring in the ghost rider comic. Haven't seen robbie Reyes in a while.

Robbie is an avenger right now in the main line avenger book

From the most recent The Punisher 16

Punisher: โ€œNot sure if Iโ€™m walking away from this one, Blaze.โ€

Ghost Rider: โ€œYou know Iโ€™m not Blaze.โ€

Punisher: โ€œThatโ€™s right. He is the fun one.โ€

You do know that Ghost Rider is in the MCU already, right? They did a whole season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. based around him (Robbie Reyes), and it was pretty well received, overall.

EDIT: Nevermind, I guess you were specifically talking about the Johnny Blaze version? Anyways, got slightly confused by the wording. My bad!

Clearly, I don't. ๐Ÿ˜‚ I'm fairly new to anything that isn't a movie. I had totally forgotten about the Agents of SHIELD series, which I only knew by name. I stand corrected, and from now on will refrain from speculating about who is and isn't in the MCU already!

Reyes is Ghost Rider in Avengers but the current actual Ghost Rider comic is about Blaze and Ketch
