SWSheets changes

By P-47 Thunderbolt, in Game Masters

Unless I'm just blind and never noticed it before, they added a column on SWSheets next to the column that shows your dice pool for the skill. It is abbreviated as "Adj." and I was wondering if any of you knew what exactly it was for. I would probably use it to keep track of +Boost, -Setback, etc. but do any of you know what its intention was? (or what the abbreviation is for?)

If I had to guess, I would assume "Adj" means "Adjustments". And it could be used for whatever. Situational bonuses and penalties. Or additional boost and setbacks as you noted.

Thanks! Unknown abbreviations always bother me. :P

Yes, that is definitely new, and yes, that would certainly be to add Boost, Setback, and Force dice.

Yep! @Duffners has been on fire lately, adding a bunch of new features to the site in response to some of the longstanding feature requests like this one and about allowing Lightsaber and Knowledge: Warfare in all systems. He's got some more great stuff coming down the pipe soon. It's a lifeday miracle!

Perhaps I'm just resistant to change, but @Duffners , why'd you change the color scheme and layout? The lighter colors are (in my opinion) less attractive, and the lower contrast makes it harder to see things like borders or titles for the boxes.

I do like the addition of the "Secret Notes" boxes, though.

Not sure if you changed anything, or if my eyes just adjusted, but the contrast looks fine now.

I'm glad it's looking okay to you now! I know it was a quite a change.

Correct and correct!

The only thing additional thing I wish that did, though, was add the appropriate symbols to the dice pool displayed next to each skill.

A fine suggestion! I'll create an issue for that.

Cool. To further explain, some talents or Force power upgrades, allow you to add Boost, remove Setback or add your Force Dice to a given skill. On the Oggdude sheets, when you take a rank in said talent, or the right Force power or upgrade, the sheet automatically adds the appropriate number of the applicable die symbols to the pool, be it a blue boost die symbol, a black Setback die symbol with a red minus sight through it, or a white Force die symbol.

For example, if you take a rank of Gearhead, the sheet automatically adds a minus Setback die symbol to the pool. If you take the Influence social check upgrade, the sheet automatically adds your Force Rating in Force die symbols to all of your social skills.

Perhaps it would be easier to just have a ticker so that the user can set it, rather than trying to make it automatic.
