New Player Newb Faction Question

By LORDs_diakonos, in Star Wars: Legion

So i do not own any clone wars stuff yet and haven't really gotten into the game yet though I do own a bunch of Legion stuff.

My question is how do the factions work? Can I play rebel vs rebel? rebel vs separatist? I didn't find the answer looking in the rules FFG has online

Yes, you build your 800 points army (or 500 in skirmish mode) of any faction and you play against an opponent that made the same. So maybe both choose the same faction and that is OK.

Yup, any faction can legally play any other faction. Play any groups you like.

OK cool. I figured but then was like but thematically that doesn't make sense. I guess just ignore the time from a thematic sense and enjoy the star wars armies

Two words: Training Exercises . Now it makes thematic sense. ;)

rotfl I know just was throwing it out there 😛

In tournaments it happens but outside of that it's easy to avoid. Paint up 800 points of two factions, then play a few games with both before deciding on a faction to "invest" in. Keep the spare 800 point army in case you meet someone who only has your favorite faction. This one weird trick makes all your games thematic.

What do you do when you have Rebels and Imps and your opponent comes with clones?

Time to get two more armies, just to be sure 😄

Clearly there was a group of clones who never retired and are fighting their own battle.

Or they got sucked through the space between space or whatever that place is in Rebels that allows for minor time jumping
