Hyperspace Deathmatch - Rebel

By CinnaWolf, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

This is a deathmatch.

The plan is to use raddus to let the CR90 pull out the MC75 on the rear of enemy capital ship, and the MC75 to pull out the suicide Hammerhead to just get some easy face up dmg on enemy capital ship.

MC80 will just take enemy ships head on trying to block one to let the CR90 get a good position. Squadrons are anti-squad role only.

MC75 Armored Cruiser (104)
• Major Derlin (7)

• Heavy Ion Emplacements (9)
• Heavy Turbolaser Turrets (6)
• Profundity (7)
= 143 Points

Hammerhead Torpedo Corvette (36)
• External Racks (3)
• Garel's Honor (4)
= 43 Points

MC80 Star Cruiser (96)
• Admiral Raddus (26)
• Walex Blissex (5)

CR90 Corvette B (39)
• Engine Techs (8)
• NK-7 Ion Cannons (10)
• Jaina's Light (2)
= 59 Points

Pelta Assault Ship (56)
• Ray Antilles (7)
• Projection Experts (6)
= 69 Points

Squadrons:
• 6 x X-wing Squadron (78)
• Jan Ors (19)
• 2 x A-wing Squadron (22)
= 119 Points

Total Points: 594

Biggs > 2 A-wings that are going to have an awkward time using counter with all the scarier escorts, the Pelta would like shields to maximum, NK-7s and heavy turbolaser turrets generally aren’t worth the paper they’re printed on, and the MC75 will be sad without rerolls in some capacity (leading shots.) The HIEs could replace the NK-7s, which will only lead to them discarding a contain they couldn’t use anyway. The Armored Cruiser also needs ECM, which is a necessity for large bases. Using the brace(s) keeps you alive. Not being able to use it (or them) can literally mean being one-shotted by some builds. I would think about external racks instead of ordnance pods. They’re more likely to see good use, in part because anyone who gets fighters into close range of Profundity with that many X-wings staring them down has already done a bad job flying.

The plan is reasonable, but I would highly recommend reversing the roles of the Liberty and MC75; the Liberty is a bully that doesn’t win head-on fights with other big ships. It dies very quickly when the braces get locked down by large dice pools, and the only way to reliably prevent that is to not be in a scary arc. With ECM the MC75 will be able to weather large dice pools reasonably well and reliably, which lets it box the target in. The Liberty is also quick enough to chase from behind if you have first player and engine techs; otherwise I’d look at auxiliary shields team. Medical team is okay but super situational for a pretty competitive upgrade slot.

Hope this helps, good luck with your game! How are you deciding first player? That’s a pretty huge deal if you aren’t playing for points.

First player is decided by a chess game lol, but we are doing the optional rule to reverse initiative each round.

Thank you so much for the help, this is all really helpful. Im not new, im just not a great player.

Again, thanks so much. Would you be interested in how it goes?

Alright, so.

She brought a SSD command proto with JJ and Eclipse, an ISD-I and a gaggle of squadrons. I severely misplaced my MC-75 and Pelta, but managed to come back from this. The pelta was two shot by the SSD and ISD-I. I moved my '75 to the side of the SSD and pulled out the Hammerhead. Next I used the CR90 to bring the '80 at the rear of the SSD and just pounded it into oblivion. I was lucky with good face up dmg. At one point the SSD had comm noise, so I reduced it's speed to 0 and just beat it up without it being able to spend defense tokens.

After the SSD burned into nothing, the ISD destroyed my '75, and the Hammerhead killed itself by ramming. The '80 and CR90 got a good flank and just tore it apart though.

Both sides squadrons where just for protection and ensured mutual destruction with only two normal TIEs surviving, which quickly died to the CR90
