Carrying case

By Zuldan, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Hey everyone I’m a hoarder. Well a book hoarder. I need to bring all my material of a giving subject with me. Or the game feels incomplete. So I have every sw book currently released from ffa, plus some extras. I need a bag, case, preferably a portal lol haa humor. Does anyone have a suggestion on what make a good carrying apparatus must fit in a car sedan size. Thanks everyone

I only have the FaD books + EOTE core and the generic splats and carry them in a backpack but have already run out of room and generally leave a couple at home.
Something like this could work better: Haven't measured the books but should be able to fit them in or stack them inside it.

Are you sure a sedan is big enough? :P

I've only got ~1/3 of the collection and it takes me two book bags to carry it all, so I can't really help you.

Oh wait... I just remembered something: https://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/33381?page=boat-and-tote-open-top&bc=&feat=boat and tote-SR0&csp=a&searchTerm=boat and tote

It's big, at the very least.

Scan all of your books and make your own electronic copies. Then just carry them on a tablet or laptop.

I have a couple of Really Useful Boxes (I believe this one , but I'm not positive that's the exact size). It fits snugly a core book and six splat books, so I have one holding my EotE line, one for the AoR line, and one for the FaD line. (I keep the other books in a backpack with my notebooks, dice, etc.)

Another option I was using for a while was the box from a case of paper . It's definitely the most compact option, although it doesn't hold up great to travelling so you have to replace it every so often. It wasn't a big deal for me, because my wife works in a law office so they go through a lot of paper and she would bring me home a new box any time I needed one.

You don't...really! :) Try it once without. I can safely say the last time I opened a book during a session was 4-5 years ago. There are some handy skill usage charts in some of the books that might be worth copying into a binder, but that's about it. I went camping a few weeks back (backpacking, so weight is important) and only needed a bag of dice, a few select adversary cards, and a small journal of notes. I could never run this lean with, say, D&D, but with this game it's totally possible.

This is surprising easy. It's a little time consuming, but it can be done. Trick is to track down a copy stand (flea markets, garage sales, and estate sales are your friends). Grab a couple reading lights and you're in good shape to get a clear, readable image, without glare or a need to cut the bindings.

I carry my books in the assault pack from an Improved Load Bearing Equipment pack .

I carry mine in a repurposed NBC chemical bag. Easily expands for larger objects and the two inner side pouches are perfect for shoving in a dice bag and drink. https://www.charleyssurplus.com/acu-nbc-chemical-protection-gear-backpack-bag.html

I've used an older model assault pack when I've only got a few things to carry. It has cushioned panels which is nice for protecting my books (I think original intention was to cushion a helmet when you shoved it inside and carried it along for a night patrol). I can't find a picture. It's an older model then the ILBE from a Desert Storm era deployment. It had a strange square shape (clipped atop a large ruck sack). I think it ended up being just a prototype modular backpack, it had problems, and I only kept the removeable assault pack. Pre-ILBE that is hard to find?? I couldn't google a picture.

This is the way.

I find that only the players want to crack open a book during a game anymore.
