I don't think it's opinion:

They are behind the bar in this position, so facing the camera. The illusion comes from the light at the other vertex:

So it looks like the person is behind the bar when it's an illusion due to the light. It helps to look at it upside down btw.

I agree, but I have some people at work debating it.

My eyes tell me that he is facing the building, but the bar disagrees. Stupid brain trying to fill in information.
