Been away for a while. Rebel me this...

By tonycanevaro, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hey all, been away from the game for around a year and now my son is coming home for Christmas and we will likely play some x wing.

my go to lists in the past were a fat Han with wedge,

t65s with wedge and Luke and something else

all of my saved lists are now more than 200points so I need to swap a few things around.

I am partial to Han since I’m so rusty, flying well is not likely to happen and Han is pretty forgiving.

Aaron will likely have FO’s on the table.

give me a couple current Han builds that are ok and any simple to fly Rebel lists that are ok? Would appreciate the input.

here are my two favourite builds from before:

Modified YT-1300 Light Freighter - •Han Solo - 147
•Han Solo - Scoundrel for Hire (82)
Trick Shot (4)
•Kanan Jarrus (12)
•R2-D2 (10)

•Luke Skywalker (26)

T-65 X-wing - •Wedge Antilles - 59
•Wedge Antilles - Red Two (55)
R2 Astromech (4)
Servomotor S-foils (Open) (0)

Total: 206/200

For the first list, cut Luke and give Wedge proton torpedoes and lone wolf. For the second one, switch Sabine for a different 35 point ship (AP-5 or Jake?). For the third list, you can switch proton torpedoes out for an ion cannon turret, and if you want you can put the torpedoes on Luke and give turrets to both Y-Wings.

Enjoy!

Sticking to the Falcon theme (hope you have two), this one is so easy. Set your arcs side-to-side and just circle the enemy double tapping at I6 from behind rocks with a couple of pancakes. Coordinate Han with Lando if in a jam, or just get double actions.

(82) Han Solo [Modified YT-1300 Light Freighter]
(8) Perceptive Copilot
(14) Bistan
(4) Trick Shot
Points: 108

(80) Lando Calrissian [Modified YT-1300 Light Freighter]
(5) Nien Nunb
(6) Millennium Falcon
Points: 91

Total points: 199

For a more Star Wars movie themed list:

Han and Luke

(82) Han Solo [Modified YT-1300 Light Freighter]
(8) Perceptive Copilot
(10) R2-D2
(14) Bistan
(4) Trick Shot
Points: 118

(62) Luke Skywalker [T-65 X-wing]
(4) R2 Astromech
(0) Servomotor S-foils
(10) Precognitive Reflexes
Points: 76

Total points: 194

Two ideas, one with YT-1300, the other without. Take your pick :)

List 1 (198 points):

  • Lando Calrisian: Nien Numb, Leia Organa
  • Wedge Antilles: Proton Torpedoes
  • Jake Farrell: Predator, Crack Shot

List 2 (190 points):

  • Wedge Antilles: R3 Astromech, Afterburners
  • Thane Kyrell: R3 Astromech, Afterburners, Outmaneuver
  • Nora Wexley: R3 Astromech, Afterbrners, Expert Handling, Dorsal Turret, Veterat Tunner Gunner

List 1 is all about allowing Wedge to throw a Lock+Focus Proton Torpedoes at the enemy while using Lando and Jake to clean up. Jake is an extremely nimble solo flanker and can do decent damage with Predator and Crack Shot, if left unchecked.

List 2 is all about having three dangerous ships. People will very often focus on Wedge, leaving Thane and Nora to rain pain on them. To clarify, this is a Y-Wing Nora Wexley. Y-Wing wants to go into Range 1, having double locks, if she wants to shoot two targets or to set up a target swap for the next turn. Thane Kyrell with Outmaneuver is more or less a Wedge, if you can postion him well. Each ship has Afterburners to escape heat, would they get focused. You also have 10 points of bid to play around or keep. Outmaneuver on Wedge would be deadly. Plasma Torpedoes perhaps. I honestly fly this with a bid, just because I want to see where enemies are going, as its easier for me to set up Range 1 with Nora.

EDIT:

List 2, you can drop Wedge to Luke if you so prefer for the cost of Outmaneuver on Thane. Still 9 points of bid.

Flew the double pancakes list and had a great time. Also flew a Wedge/Luke/Braylen/ap5 list also fun albeit a lot more going on. :)

he officially thinks the rebels are overpowered 😜

Rebels are great at jousting due to their high HP pool. They benefit from prolonged fights, because they hurt a lot while taking hits. Wedge vs Soontir is just straight out unfair, if the Imperial player is unable to dodge the arc. I was flying Rebels vs Empire at home against my brother, being the Imperial player most of the time. And let me tell you, Rebels are just big bricks that throw themselves at the enemies. I feel like Empire and First Order are mostly meant to avoid direct engagement and just take potshots at the enemy. While you most likely won't be able to avoid the initial joust, what you do after it happens is what matters most.

TLDR: Rebels are powerful if the enemy flies into their strengths.
