Order cancelled :(

By Daft Blazer, in Marvel Champions: The Card Game

I’ve just had an email confirmation that my order for Green Goblin has been cancelled :( - I’m based in the UK, so we have already been treated as second class customers by FFG. Not only have we been given no information about a European release date, insufficient product has been shipped - leaving customers disappointed and with no clear indication when orders might (or might not) be fulfilled.

I’m probably not the only disappointed customer and clearly this is a first world problem, but a simple solution for these kind of issues would be clear honest communication from FFG. I love the game, but right now FFG have badly bungled this one and its left me with a bad feeling :(

While I was ultimately able to find all three products yesterday, I will say FFG screwed up pretty badly in the US as well. The smaller LGS I preordered through was only able to fulfill Ms Marvel because their order got shorted. And yet the bigger LGS (which I guess is some sort of VIP with FFG) was able to sell me Cap and Gobby? So they got more than just preorders?

It just seems weird in a bad way for the owner of the smaller store 😕

My local gamestore got everything they ordered in. Lucky I guess

No US, the post above mine mentioned his US store. Sorry didnt k ow we were talking UK :(

Don't forget that the product was released early. They did not have all the product they wanted but pushed it out early to make people happy. These things happen when you rush releases and are not ready.

Not really, everything was delayed to January- then this limited release of 3 packs to the US only on the 20th, no announcement that I’m aware of for any kind of Europe release. All I know is that one of my preorders has been cancelled, due to insufficient product. This is an entirely avoidable situation.

some kind of statement from FFG would go a long way to smoothing things over a bit, but it seems FFG doesn’t really care about this side of running a business

There was an additional statement from FFG last week on Twitter stating that selected retail outlets would have some product in Europe ‘after the 20th’. It looks like some places may have it next week, otherwise it will be waiting for January as they originally said...

Personally, the chance to get it next week instead of January is better than no chance...

My impression is that the January release is still going to be the main supply of product.

In Spain they are announced for January

ZATU GAMES In the UK have just announced they have stock of Ms MARVEL

It's not a great start for the game, to be honest - I'm on the fence about collecting this one, and FFGs current approach to its UK customers isn't pushing me in the "invest in this one" direction.

Edit: an hour later I just got the dispatch notice from gameslore for the new packs, which was a surprise.

I think from January on it’ll be a lot more settled. Arkham has been pretty much like clockwork, with a release pretty much every month for 3 years.

Wow, that is nooot the experience most of us have had with other FFG games?

Granted, they’ve had a lot of changes lately, and I guess Asmodee recently changed how they distribute somehow or other. So. There are bound to be some issues with that.

On the other hand, L5R has been dreadful in the UK, with sets turning up from the correct day to a whole month later. Sometimes, the distributor (Asmodée UK) doesn't announce to the LGS that something has come in, but sends out pre-orders, meaning that some shops get sets and others don't. Other times, they just don't send things out to some people. The Dragon pack only arrived with my store on Friday, but other people in the same city had had it for two weeks.

I have all 3 expansions arriving Friday and i am in the UK. I got them from Magic Madhouse and Zatu games.

Update: my Cap hero pack arrived today 🥳 🥳 🥳 , and the other two are in the post!

i don’t know what happened - something went right 😎

I hope everyone gets their packs.

I’ve got Green Goblin in the U.K., but no sign of the hero packs. This will keep me busy until the new year though.

Yeah, to be honest... as much as I was looking forward to the heroes? Goblin and the many modular encounter sets are what are adding more playability to the game, moreso.

Being lazy about getting sleeves so haven't ran Goblin yet. Used the Electro modular though, it was shockingly brutal... did you see what I did there.? :P

ISWYDT 🤣

Are you just running generic clear or color-backed sleeves? I've been throwing the Mayday premiums on everything (except Cap, because I found UltraPro's art sleeves and bought a set with the painting of Washington crossing the Delaware River specifically for him 😁 ) because there isn't any place selling hero-specific sleeves. FFG is dropping the ball on this one (not surprising considering it's been radio silence on the playmats).

I mean… I personally don’t want to re-sleeve half of my deck every time I swap aspects.

Same. Clear sleeves for all player cards. Makes changing decks on the fly fast and easy

I don't plan on doing that, either. But as the card pool increases and we get more duplicates, there are certain heroes I would like to have complete decks ready to go for out of the box. I know Cap is always going to be a go-to for me. When Dr. Strange makes an appearance he will, too. I also want to have at least a secondary aspect built specifically for that hero sleeved for them so I can quickly switch out if needed.

I’ve gone with clear ultra pro for everything- I ordered 15 packs the other day which should cover me up to the hero after Thor...
