The Bounty

By Sharkbelly, in Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game 30th Anniversary Edition

I am planning to run a classic Star wars adventure over the holidays. I've been watching Rebels with my kids, and they absolutely love Sabine wren and the others. The idea of the plot is that the heroes will go to a planet to extract a Rebel leader who has drawn a little too much Imperial attention to himself. I'll share the adventure here as we go.

In preparation I have repainted Luke to be Ezra Bridger:

Those look excellent.

Thanks!

Here is the basic idea for the adventure:

  1. The characters are sent a planet to recover a rebel leader who has drawn to much Imperial attention. Their cover story is that they are traders bringing supplies. They may do some background research on the leader, the town where he lives, and the bounty hunter who is on his trail (Bossk).

  2. The heroes arrive surreptitiously in the town and try to make contact with the leader. They see that Bossk has also arrived and is working with the local Imperials.Their contact informs them that the secret rebel base is outside in the surrounding forest.

  3. Out in the forest, there are scouts searching for the base. The heroes must neutralize them or sneak past them and make their way into the base.

  4. Now they have to get back to the city. Depending on how quietly they got into the base, they may have plenty of stormtroopers waiting for them there.

Sounds good! One thing to consider when using a canon character directly in an adventure is whether or not you want your game to keep 100% to canon, because the PCs might try to ambush Bossk. Maybe that seems like the logical course of action based on the setup, or maybe they just want to see if they can manage to kill a movie character.

A great point! I ended up going with a generic bounty hunter instead of Bossk.

Here are pictures of the setup of the game:

Alright, here is how the game went down!

The heroes received their orders from the rebel Alliance: travel to a planet and rescue a local rebel leader there who had drawn a little too much attention. They would pose as traders and be contacted by another member of the cell with info about the leader.

The leader was hiding out in a set of caves outside of town. The heroes had to make their way there while avoiding Imperial Scouts who were also looking for the hideout. The party chose to sneak up close and keep an eye on the scouts. When they had passed by the area, the heroes moved in and rescued the leader.

When they got back to town, the PCs discovered that their ship was being watched by the Imperials. Sabine wren snuck off to set up some explosives to create a distraction.

After an intense firefight, the heroes made it back to their ship and escaped.
