It occurs to me that at the end of the Clone wars there must have been unbelievable amounts of wrecked or abandoned equipment left lying around on thousands of different worlds. The rebellion started less than twenty years later and I'd have to believe that the Rebels would have made use of anything they could get their hands on. So Perhaps I'll add some battered, repaired and repainted Clone Wars stuff to my Rebel army
Rebels Using Old Clone Wars Equipment
I mean, they do use AT-RTs and Z-6s, both of which are directly from the clone wars.
And Atgar Towers.
I'm pretty sure most of their personal weapons are supposed to be late Clone Wars surplus also, the kind of stuff used by planetary security or Republic reserves which flooded the black market when the war ended.
The opening of the "Star Wars, Jedi: Fallen Order" game Lightly addresses clone wars clean up.
There’s plenty of clone wars surplus in the rebellion already.
On screen we have things like the Ywing. Off screen there’s a limited run of ARCs in use by them.
Legion already has them using Z6 and ATRT, which are straight from the Clone Wars show (and Ep3 for the RT).
Wouldn’t surprise me to see more overlap there over time.
With this thought process, should they not use droids stuff instead?
Clones became stormtroopers and their equipment did not get abandoned anywhere, droids stuff however...
There could be hidden caches the republic/empire never found?

In the Tarkin book the Rebels use a lot of droid fighters.

Why wouldn't the Clone equipment get abandoned?
The surplus armour and weapons would probably either be sold to planets for their militias, "lost" off the back of disposal trucks/freighters, and/or left in old supply dumps on unoccupied worlds (due to cost of reclamation vs gain of salvage). Just because the equipment gets turned in doesn't mean it stays in Imperial hands.
The Star Wars Rebels Episode "The Last Battle" shows a Rebel cell raiding an abandoned Clone wars era base for supplies. I can't remember if it was originally a Clone or Droid base though....
The Rebellion was using old Clone Wars stuff since before any of us had any idea what the Clone Wars actually were. At least since 1991 off the top of my head, possibly earlier.
Whether a piece of equipment is from droids or republic, it's still old Clone Wars equipment.
