Jedi: Fallen Order

By GrandAdmiralCrunch, in Star Wars: Armada Off-Topic

I haven’t seen a topic for this, so I thought I would start one to open a conversation.

My wife and I have been playing it over the past few weeks and have been loving it. The graphics are great, the story is good, and the gameplay is a whole lot of fun.

Anyone else playing it, and/or want to talk about it?

Really enjoyed it myself, just got the 100% for it this week! The story was okay considering it's canon, overall a good game!

Does a really good job or making you feel like a 'Jedi' and the customisation is great! Enjoying it much more now we have a photo mode as well, I snapped this one of my lightsaber in game https://www.reddit.com/r/FallenOrder/comments/e9b1mo/my_lightsaber_in_photo_mode/

I thought the story was solid, if a bit derivative. It didn’t blow me away, but it was serviceable. I never felt like it got in the way of the game.

I agree about making you feel like a Jedi and customization. My only real complaint is that there wasn’t mechanics tied to the customizations. I think having them give you a bonus would have given more incentive to tracking everything down. Still, that is a minor complaint and I don’t think the game is marred by not having that level of options.

Nice saber! I’m going to have to go in and play with the camera mode once my wife finishes her play through.

Agree, would be nice if you could get parts for the saber with bonuses etc, especially with no NG+.

Yes, very similar to a certain vader comic storyline. I think due to it being Star Wars Jedi... Fallen order they may be setting up for series in the vain of Jedi Knight. More so with how late in game some companions come in, and how the ending is left.

Playing it too, but have not had much time for it lately. Got it on launch day and still am at the second (as in second story visit, squeezed in a collection round before) vist to Zeffo. I am playing it on Grandmaster without any prior experience in Soulslike combat (unless Vampyr counts). That doesn't help to speed things up.

The customization is actually the weirdest part IMHO. Changing Cals clothing is fine, but the ability to just give the Stinger Mantis a new Paintjob neither the right to do it (It isn't Cals ship FFS) nor access to the necessary facilities is just weird. On BD-1 and the Saber I'm kind of divided. Repainting the droid would be fine, if done at a workbench (just like the saber currently) but technically still is messing with another individuals aesthetic (instead of allowing them to choose for themselves). Changing a saber is basically unheard of, especially swapping crystals. Also it lacks respect towards Cals master. The Bottom line is, that a lot of customization in a game with a very set narrative and predetermined characters causes a lot of ludo-narrative dissonance. We are playing Cal Kestis and not our own version of Cmndr Shepard.

What also bothers me a bit are some minor inconsistencies with the larger Star Wars media, like the way to early appearance of a TIE Interceptor and TIE Reaper. Those could have been a Theta or Nu Class shuttle and a (black) Eta-2-Actis for example, better representing the early imperial era. Similarly, Stormtroopers (in the "new" armor) using a Z-6 rotary blaster cannon is weird, when they could have given them a RT-97C for some visual consistency or at least the Blaster Canon used by Imperial Army Troopers in Solo. The suddenly-all-being-armed-with-a-baton Scout Troopers factor into this too, but that can be justified by gameplay (just like the blaster cannons shield, although that one becomes obsolete with a certain upgrade). It's nitpicking on a high level though. The overall experience is just great.

I've beaten it now. It's a really solid game but I was a little disappointed in the lack of end game content. At 96% completion there's not much to do but poke about looking for that odd 4% of unexplored area...

I was hoping they'd let you go back and fight bosses, or have insanely difficult post-game bosses... ( I mean how cool would it be to go to the temple on the starter planet, touch the mirror and fight Vader. Or a copy of yourself as darkside?)

They could have paired that with a post game stat boost, that added a small % of bonus to your stats for each point you unlock?

There were some missed opportunities in endgame content, but otherwise a VERY enjoyable game.

Let’s face it, it’s EA.... Everything you said is future DLC.

Honestly, I logged a solid 30 hours into the game, 4 or 5 hours of which was just faffing about on Dathomir, so I feel the core game is good enough to merit DLC without being offensive to the consumer base. I'd 10/10 pay for a end game DLC that made extra bosses and extended stats available. Probably even up to $20 if the bosses were hard enough... Be cool of they did a challenge mode for each planet too, where all the enemies are upgraded. or spawned more enemies.

there's a lot they could do with the content they have right now just by adding a little. I'd be willing to bet a lot of people would buy it too.

I have a feeling that this was a case of reusing assets from the battlefront games. It’s disappointing but understandable. I’ve heard some exposing this away as prototypes.

I’m with the crowd clamoring for a New Game+

I can:t recall the TIE Reaper being in any Battlefront game. Also both games use different engines and levels of detail, so that seems unlikely.

What about a proper old school (standalone) expansion pack? I've basically wanted to play as an inquisitor (doesn't really matter which one, but seventh sister makes sense with her ID10 droid) for post launch content since we saw the first gameplay.

Working with the Devs on the Reddit Sub for game, they've been really open to community concerns so far. I think they'll add some form of New Game+, even if it's just for the cosmetics.

Well, that‘s a bit disappointing. I can understand them being frugal, but if they made those assets fresh then that is sad. At 5 years after the end of the Clone Wars there should have been more Clone Wars tech.

I enjoyed the game but I have some nitpicks. The rapid breakdown of Clone Wars stuff in just 5 years is unbelievable, in my opinion the Stormtroopers should still have a lot of Phase II armor sets still in circulation for example. The bond between Cal, Cere, and Greez grew too fast, it feels like they just met and are already best friends.

Jedi: Fallen Order gets free update with many new features!

Just started playing it today. Really digging how immersive the mechanics are and the interactions between Force-Ginger and robopup

Lol to me it would happen the other way around. "I finished this, why are you telling I didn't!"
