Looking for Clarifications cards from new battlepack

By Vitamin T, in Warhammer Invasion Rules Questions

I was just wondering if anyone had gotten firm rulings on these three cards. I have seen questions come up on the forums for all three, but I hadnt seen any official answer. If no one has heard I'll send it in to FFG, but I thought I'd ask here first

Your Will is Mine - is the change of control on the units until the end of game or until the end of turn?

Blessing of Tzeentch - Can you choose to find only one unit even if there are multiple units availible (as has been ruled with Dwarf Cannon Crew) or do you have to randomize between all found units?

Runefang of Solland - Do you need to pay for the loyalty on a card played for free? The FAQ has me confused on this.

Thanks,

TL

Pretty sure of the answer for #1 at least.

#1: I think James's ruling for Blessing of Valaya has been over-interpreted. What I think he meant was that effects that aren't indicated via counters or card position end at the end of turn unless stated otherwise. For example, Troll Vomit doesn't "wear off" at end of turn, nor does Forced March. Similarly, the DE epic effect doesn't wear off at end of turn either.

#2: Yeah, you'll have to send this in, I think. The card templating and the recent ruling for Dwarven Cannon Crew are pretty much conflicting.

#3: Honestly, I am not 100% sure, it's a good point. I think you would have to pay the loyalty since other things that care about cost (e.g. Dwarven Cannon Crew) ignore loyalty - the Runefang would just lower the base cost of the tactic to 0.

I think that there could be two relevant entries in the FAQ to the Runefang questions:

Cost
Any reference to cost in a card effect always
references the top left number printed on
the card. A card with a cost of 0 cannot be
reduced.

Loyalty
Loyalty is a variable that can add to the cost
of a card. However, it is not considered part
of the cost for the purposes of card effects.

I could see this going either way depending on how you interperate "for the purposes of card effects". Does it mean that you dont have to pay it since runefang is a car effect or does it mean that runefang doesnt reduce it because it is a card effect?

I agree with you that the Blessing of Valya ruling has been overinterpreted. I was just wanting to see if there was a definite ruling one way or another though. I think I will send in all three of these questions.

Thanks though

nevermind.... i just had to RTFC
