The Z is almost too small to fit the slot, though debatable. That 'dome' behind the cockpit makes it look like they had a Droid equivalent included almost as a fully built in component. Maybe it was a optional feature?

According to FFG's Stay On Target RPG sourcebooks, the Z-95H, the rebel's 'heavy-95' refit, did exactly that - the regular z wasn't hyper-capable so didn't really need one.

While I like Henry's design, I hate the 'fixing' title. Alternate take? Sure. Fixed? No. Fixing implies something is broken, and that really isn’t the case. The Porsche design is fine, it feels perfectly Star Wars to me, though more of planetary design than a workhorse galaxy spanning design. It’s far less sports car feel than say the N1. We've seen so little of the galaxy so far, so there is room for totally different styles of ships.

Did someone see this ship in the film? I didn't.

I think it's just a marketing thing, it wasn't in the movie.

Still interested to see if we get it in the game...

it's fixed because the original didn't match star wars visual language.

In your opinion.

No, it really doesn't match the visual language of star wars. It looks like it belongs in star citizen.

Please just be honest about not having your own opinion.

I'm really tired of seeing that line everywhere.

Nah. It’s fine if it is his opinion too. Appearances like this are not something that can be quantified so it’s all opinions, including yours and mine.

Not that opinions matter. Apparently it’s in the movie so whether it looks to somebody’s thought of what Star Wars should be, it is Star Wars.

It looks great to me as it is. No need to "fix". It looks star wars enough to me. And the "star wars" look of a ship is all over the place.

That was my opinion before that video was made. People can have different opinions than yours without it being a conspiracy.

Frankly, the original version looks like what it would like like coming off the assembly line, while the “fixed” version looks more like the same fighter after decades of use and modification.

which is very Star Wars

Art and design *can* be quantified. That's why art styles exist. Why things can be quantified and placed in genre's like cyberpunk, new wave, steam punk, Art Deco, Art Nueva, retro future, etc.

If we saw a star wars ship made out of a steam train covered in moving clock parts people would have no issue saying that style belonged in steampunk not star wars. The OT had a strong muscle car influence with call backs to black and white buck rogers style Sci-Fi. The PT introduced art deco in the Naboo ships. The ST hasn't added anything stylistically to the visual language.

Razor ailerons, scoops, hull perforations all over are not something seen in the star wars visual language. That's why people are saying that. It adds a lot of new things, but adding so much has pushed it out of star wars visual language and into something else.

It reminds me of the ED 209s from the Robocop remakes. They go from this bricky car inspired design to looking like a Nokia.

But you still have people who don’t agree that the ship doesn’t look “Star Wars”, implying that there is more left to interpretation then you think.

To paraphrase something you yourself said, “people can have different opinions than you”

Uh, ok.

yep, no odd razor thin ailerons sticking off the body like little strips, no scopes on the body, and no hand hold perforation the body. The Naboo starfighter is very much art deco. It's a defined style.

People can believe it fits in star wars. However when people are discussing design language and someone responds that you should "admit you don't have original opinions" don't be suprised when people with art backgrounds explain why people are saying it.

Fair. I would, however, suggest against expect it to be a trump card. Like I said, there seems to be more room for interpretation then you implied.

You're arrogant, assuming none of us have any art background. Are you aware that I do indeed work on commission and I've designed starships for several years?

If all this needs to be explained I wouldn't

You don't need to explain everything others have already explained.
