New spoiler up: YAY! A little plot cancel and anti Valar tech. Freaking finally....pricey though. Will you be able to get him out in time? i''ll try - but 5 gold for a unique neutral is asking a lot.
still want Outfox back.

Same here, but with the Old Bear I feel like that is less likely to happen now
I have to be honest and say that he won't make most of my decks. 5 gold without reducers (he's neutral) is a lot to ask for, especially a one shot. He's definitely awesome for a Night's Watch deck (Benjen makes him reusable too).
I have a feeling Lars may get MWNK all over this one, lol.
heck i'm not sure I even need to bring up MWnK to point out his flaws (though I'd be happy to steal him
) ....5 gold is killer especially in the decks I'd want him in (bara mostly)
i dunno what the big stink about not having good cancel is but it sure seems to be mostly over priced (except two house specific cards and one is a to be a event). I might just feel it the most as it hurts my play style a lot (I won warden of the east with a deck half full of rush and half full of cancel).
the only good thing about him is that he forces someone to play a valar (and only killing him) before they play the city plot they really want to get off....but for 5 gold......................................I guess i could pay 9 gold to have him at 5 STR w/ king stannis....pardon my lack of a '~'
I really don't think he's that bad. and if there starts to be more decent NW characters, then bara NW is going to be pretty **** awesome! I am really starting to look at epic phase events to give bara vigilant that extra oomph they need sometimes, and the gift would really help there. Plus the more kingdoms a bara deck is running the better thanks to zealous collector. And shivering sea is another card that would seemore play in a bara nw deck, also a kingdom card.
Really the **** wall is what's annoying. Although with the seat of power and sally's crew, which both say card, instead of just character, it shouldn't be that hard to pay for it. I'm thinking that Bara is going to be on top soon. or at least tied for top next to stark with the look at the stuff they are getting. Although no matter how good the other houses are, lanni always seems to find a way to win. ~I think its because all the best players are jerks so gravitate toward lannister.
Yeah, this card will likely be seen in Night's Watch decks, and might not make the cut in other decks but there are ways to reduce not only him but other neutral characters. The thing to watch out for is Greyjoy and Martell cancels that can cancel his ability. It is nice to see a Plot cancel (finally), and one that you don't have to guess to use if you want to stop a particular plot effect. And can make Valar less useful, perhaps.
Well, I think the new Mormont's a pretty fun card, might be pretty useful in Stark decks (especially if you're running NW out of Stark) since Valar tends to be pretty problematic for those. Maybe also in an influence heavy deck that runs Shivering Sea and doesn't like resets? I don't really buy into him affecting shadows decks, since setupping him would literally be a pain and City of Lies comes out turn one (except in Baratheon shadow decks that are in a bad mood... ahem...)
Bara getting on top sounds nice and all, but... I'm not really seeing the cards come together yet. Tons of interesting cards, but decks still end up being pretty mix-n'-match with random outcomes. The only really solid Bara-build still is some flavor of rush, and Mormont won't be doing anything for those. That said, if someone comes up with a good build for Bara Winter, I'm all ears...
On a side note, the new crow-event finally gives NW something to balance out the extra power required by the Agendas. The combination of Longclaw and most neutral NW characters having No Attachments still baffles me...
Bara on top is fartehr away than Staton thinks - but I do agree that Old Bear looks perfect in a Bara NW deck - its just that his five gold cost scares me as much it does everyone else. dropping one charcter in Marshalling is rarely a good diea for a Baratheon deck and this guys is more of a situational counter than an asset to the rush.....but mybe, just maybe.
I do love the Valar cancel and amybe just ahving him out acts as a deterrent..Five gold though....
Well I don't think that Bara is going to be on top in the next week or anything, but with the cards that have been spoiled, I think it is heading that way. Especially if we get some more asshai synergy, since they usually involve character recursion, which is the main that that's missing for them right now. well that and draw, but the draw doesn't seem to be getting fixed anytime soon. Although I do like that new fanatic card. So far there have been bits and pieces for a good bara build, and if there are more cards that fill in the gaps, bara is going to be a really strong house. Plus, the fact that lanni seems to just keep getting hit with errata and bans works in their favor as well.
You do ahev a point there - Lanni losing Complelled did more to move Bara to the forefront than any card save Seat of Power.
