Dwarven-Attachment-Rush

By Kako K., in Warhammer Invasion Deck Building

Hey fellows,

i´ve just tested a dwarven rush themed deck with some empire and highelf cards in it. First the list, second some explainations on how this works.

Units: 17

3x Longbeards

3x Cannon Crew

3x Gurni

3x Trollslayer

3x Mountain Brigade

2x Hammerer

Supports: 26

3x Gromril Armour

3x Book of Grudges

3x Dragonmage Awakening

3x Hellblaster Gun

2x Ishas Blessings (Dont know the english name, sorry)

3x Dwarf / Highelf Alliance

3x Anvil of Doom

3x Contested Village

3x Warpstone Exc.

Tactics: 7

2x Charge of the Silver Helms

3x Striking the Grudge

2x Highelves Disdain

50 Cards

The goal is to get some units in your battlefield early with high attack dmg in round two. Place a development in your bf every turn to get out early slayers. Alternatively you can play longbeards there. With vollygun in round 3 and one of the power-up tactics played, you can make one enemy zone burn in round 3 and the other one in round 4.

The starting hand should always include one cannoncrew to draw an extra alliance or book of grudges. Its also important to get a carddraw of at least 3 early. Therefor you got warpstone or mountain brigade.

The key lies in your attachments. With them you can even win with only one unit in your bf, just by using tactics and volly for attacking and gromril and dragonmage for def. If you manage to get out gurni in round 2 or 3, you can do up to 15 dmg in round three with only one unit by playing all the 0cost supports on him (3 armours and 3 dm-awakening + volleygun). The tactics get even cheaper by attaching the highelf supports and using alliances. So lots of cheap and free cards in this deck. You only have to pay for the few units.

All units in the deck have high hp, so no chance for dark elf sniping action. Block evil verena with disdain and deathmaster with blessings. If you dont encounter them, play these cards as developements without bad conscience. Finally the hammerers got in there to have some cheap units, if you cant pay for the bigger ones but want to play some attachments or just to have another unit in bf use your anvils skills.

I tested some games and it even turned out to be faster than a skaven-chaos rush deck. Its almost impossible to have a bad starting hand cause there´s more than one way to get to the one--till-two-unit-high-dmg-finisher.

Maybe some of you would try it and tell me what you think about it. Maybe, we find some way to improve it.

When i read my own description, it sounds like an unbeatable deck. Just to clarify that, this deck is not ;D I´m just too excited right now that something i build works ;D

Looks really cool, Kato. I'll check this one out when I get a chance. Congrats on your interesting deck. :)

Hi,

It's an interesting deck, hovewer a little bit light on units to my taste. I would definetly include the Slayers of Karad Kadrin.

It seems strange to me that you say it's faster than current rush-decks, as in my experience those could win reliably by turn 3-4 if left unchecked. ;)

No its not faster than current rush decks. I won gainst an skaven-chaos-rush deck several times. I tested it a few times gainst an orcrush with several control cards in it and it didnt work that well cause of all the disturbance like pillage and lobber crew.

The idea for that deck came after losing gainst an darkelf LP reduction deck and thats the reason why all the units in it have hp3 and more. Slayers of Karak Kadrin are only good for defending i think or for triggering rangers. And dont want to waste the book on them cause i need the 2 power in the kingdom zone or for attacking. During the games I tested the deck, there was no use for them at all. The problem with them is, they draw 2 early ressources for only one hammer and 2 hp. Like I said this deck needs to win fast. And with only 1 hammer and no need for def I wonder, why they should be in there. Furthermore they block space in your starting hand sometimes. Maybe someone will try them and tell us how they worked out?!

I havent tried this in a tourney environment. Like i said before, i was just excited, that it was a deck a good opponent had problems beating (with several decks). And I read some posts before telling there were people playing an attachment-deck. I never found any list here, so i build my own one. I would like to hear some more proposals to make it even faster ;) Have any?

I´ve one more question: Can you use slayers sacrificing abilities to destroy an enemy unit attacking ANY zone or only if it attacks in BF?

There is no limit that I can see on which zone is being attacked. As long as the Slayers are in your BZ and there are attacking units, you can use them.
