If you are claiming a Companion ticket (Continental Champ, current World Champ), please provide the name of the player designating you as their companion. Complete the questions above with details for their event.

This means there are 3 more seats?
That was news to me as well. I've already started a bidding war for my companion ticket.
Am I missing something - aren't spots to Worlds earned by winning a Prime? How are Armada players expected to have reserved their spot by January 10th if there are several Primes being played after that date?
Edit: I see something about sending an email if you win a spot after that, but why aren't they just leaving the online reservation form open until after the last Prime has been played?

dont you need an adepticon ticket to even get in to play? What happens if you dont know if your getting in to worlds, when a prime and the adepticon tickets are sold out. LOL
As of this morning there were still slots available for the last chance qualifier. Just FYI.

I tried looking for that in the article but wasn't able to find it. All I saw was top 8 from day 1 continue to day 2. What am I missing, @Tokra ?

I have (possibly) silly question. I have an invite already, but I want to play LCQ. Am I allowed to? If I win invite, would it be passed down to another player?

I personally would say no. You just take a spot from someone without an invite who won’t get in now. I understand about the invite passing down. But you robbed peter to pay paul.
I'd say if you showed up "day of" and asked nicely to be put on a waiting list to ensure your not taking a spot from another player.
I don't understand why they went to an invite only /win-you-way-in at worlds. Especially when Prime tournaments don't cover large parts of the country.
For someone like me, who lives 6 hours from St Louis and 8 hours from Houston, but it's only 10 hours to Minneapolis (where worlds used to be) or 10 hours to Adepticon, it makes a lot more sense financially to make one big trip than 2 or 3.
FFG has made organized play not an option for a large swath of the country. I could make these trips if I was independently wealthy, or something. It's not much of a shock that finding any kind of Armada play where I live is nonexistent (and my moderately-sized community supports two large game stores).

For the rest of the world it isn't that big a change; it was pretty expensive to get to Worlds anyway.
But anyway, there is a frustrating lack of tournaments at the moment. It probably wouldn't be as bad if we'd had Store Championships this year, but not having them has left a big hole in the organised play calendar (particularly combined with stores switching to weekly play rather than quarterly tournaments).

Or if they say ignore the applications of stores in OH, PA, IN but give Kentucky, Illinois and Virginia 2 each....
Honestly, I'm pretty pissed. I know for a fact 3 stores in Ohio applied. I hosted the one back when FFG wasn't telling people what was in the kit until after it arrived.

I'd be happy/happier if the Primes were within 4 or 5 hours of where I live, instead of 8. It's odd that the only Prime in Texas is in Houston. Geographically, that's insane. (I live in Oklahoma.)

Oh snap, really? Ummm excuse me while I go fill out this form...
Edited by TruthinessI am a bit confused right now. It seems i need some translation help.
If you are claiming a Companion ticket (Continental Champ, current World Champ), please provide the name of the player designating you as their companion. Complete the questions above with details for their event. *
If you are not claiming a Companion ticket, please enter "N/A"
This from the registration for the Worlds.
When i understand this right, the person, who want the companion ticket, has to fill this out, right? And has to enter the name of the Champ?
But there is no way to choose " Companion " from the list of the source of the reserved seat. Could it be, that they messed up the registration with old info from last year?
Does anyone know if the companion invite is also this year or not? Currently these information are a bit mixed up for me 🤪 .

That's how I read it - the person claiming the companion ticket fills it out and puts your name as the name of the champion.
And here is the problem. The person cannot choose a source of the reserved seat.
Because there is no "companion" to choose anymore (i think it was last year).
In the list are only the winner, Top4 and Top8 from all events that give you the seat.

Its substantially easier for the rest of the world to get an invite ticket than wake up at 3am to buy tickets. But yes, still need to be able to afford.
As a previous attender, its worth it once to meet everyone you know online and to see Chicago. Twice is questionable. I am seeing if my mates want to do a road trip this time.

From what I saw when filling out the form, they fill out the form as if they won the event. Then, when they get to the companion portion, they fill in your information. So for your companion ticket, they would pick "Previous World Champion"
@Tokra Oh, it will be a great pleasure for me to press that button "Previous World Champion" 🙂
