Vital Assets Article

Looks very interesting :)

The supply drop looks cool, hough it may be a little unbalanced, depending on what's in the deck. But it's cool that we get many more cards, the deck selection is starting to actually make sense as a game mechanic.

Very excited to see all the new cards.

Does this mean initiative bids are going to get even more important, as you'll want to use your chosen cards which suit your force.

I love Supply Drop, and Hostage Exchange looks really fun, too

i dig this :)

Me too. Lots of great terrain pieces and some normal characters too. Great for Legion or the RPG.

I noticed FFG is no longer giving us a proposed release window (Q1 2020, etc).

Coming to you, Holidays 2020! lol

Lol. That’s fine. Gives me time to work on other projects. gIWSrx2.jpg

They added Q1 2020 to the article now.

I wonder if any of the other objectives will allow for vehicle scoring.

FFG, thou hath redeemed thyself of your paint announcement sins!

This is literally the most exciting news for me out of all the upcoming news. More ways to play the game, new rules to mix in, etc. Immersive minis/objects for the missions. Yes please.

Way cooler than “here’s the next unit for GCW factions.”

This just went to top of my buy list.

Really excited about this. This is even better than the previous terrain pack.

Same, objectives like this, where you do things, make the game a lot more interesting and fun.

Curious about the minis shown. There are 6 crate-type things, which seem obviously to be the Supply Drop tokens. There are 6 bomb/mine looking things, that seem to maybe connect to the "Payload" card partially shown, as well as those grav carts. So, something that may be different from Minefield or Sabotage Vaps?

So we have a nemoidian, any idea who the human lady is? Just a civvy?

I'm not familiar with those Clones in her Hostage card, but it could be like, a Senator? She has a very noble look about her, so maybe CIS kidnapped a Senator, or she's a member of the CIS that the Clones are taking captive, etc?

Same here, even over new CW units, since it changes up every game regardless of armies involved.

Also, the supply deck would make for an interesting single model unit style skirmish variant.

She isn't human. She's a Pantoran , one of the near-human races that mostly differ in hair and skin colour. I think in specific she is supposed to represent Riyo Chuchi from the Season 1 Clone Wars episode "Trespass" judging by the art on the card.

Edit: Having checked screenshots from the episode, totally Riyo Chuchi.

Riyo Chuchi from Clone Wars. A Senator from Pantora.

She is quoted right below the box image.

Exactly. New units add variety and look cool. But, to me, my GCW collection is largely “done” aside from heroes unless FFG starts up the Ewok subfaction or starts cranking out Mandalorian SF for both sides from Rebels. And CW needs content but this helps add to the diversity of how the content is used.

I cannot overstate the level of hype I have right now for this box.

Others have ID’d her, but yes she’s a senator who appears in several episodes of clone wars. This is perfect for her representation in the game as she’s not around enough to justify a unit but prominent enough that it’s not super subtle nod.

OHH I remember this episode, now! Super cool.

In the background of the hostage card. Is that...… is that Mandalorians? It is isn't snow troopers. Look at the T-Visors!!

EDIT- Apparently these are Clone Snow Troopers. Which means we may get these fairly soon :)

No those are snow clone troopers there from the cartoon

No, those are Clone Snow Assault Troopers . Which are part of the episode Riyo was introduced, and the art on the card is supposed to depict a particular scene from the episode. The clone trooper armour is (in canon) inspired by Jango Fett's Mandalorian armour.

Speaking of which, I wouldn’t mind seeing them in the game someday. Fit the aesthetic more than mixing P1 and p2 clones.

Yeah, and I feel that the P2 clones would have been a decent choice for the "Elite" Corps unit option, and then have the Snow Assault troopers as the second released Corps. But that would make the Republic Corps units at least very similar to the Empire, which does make some sense, but would dilute the faction identity a bit.

Clone Cold Assault Troopers

As seen in the Canon Episode “Trespass” but were first seen in “Into the Unknown”.
