how do you find his pilot ability? - not 100% sure its great tbh from the fuzzy images i can make out

A lot of folks speculate that Composure will be handy with him. Barrel Roll to fail, gaining a Focus, then you'd be able to Boost or Evade. The Boost/Focus and Focus/Evade options are great for surviving bad situations, and aren't normally available to Vonreg with just his odd ship ability.

But I don't think there are too many clear thoughts, since the "clear shots" of his text and his cost are missing.

For lists on the whole:

As with other aces, usually great to pair with more aces. If a Kylo/Quickdraw/Vonreg list fits, it'll probably be decent.

That said, First Order has a lot of efficient generics, and tossing Vonreg in as an ace along with a bunch of basic TIE/fo and TIE/sf will also probably do at least decent.
