We got an announcement article.........and its Paint
classic ffg
at least these are dropping before most people have painted... o wait.....
Ahahahahaahahah. Oh FFG games don't ever stop doing you............... Or stop it because I do not know how to feel about all this.
On one hand this does count I guess as 2 (please let it be 1) new products. And 3 new units I guess could count for a lot, buuuuuuuuuuuuut if the leaks are true then it will only be one new unit. Cannot really blame them if the leak is real.
I guess what really makes it hurt is that they promoted 5 NEW PRODUCTS!!!! as a way to say sorry about the giant screw up. Maybe my friends and I over hyped it, but I sort of feel tricked.
having been worked by ffg for years this was actually one of my predictions

At least this time it is out before the rest of the army? I would now bet money this will be delayed.
At best I wonder if they are hinting towards Gungans and Umbaran units as the partisan units???
Ok, from fb and the post of Pena. 3 more articles this week (one being a world's announcement) is the plan
Soooo.... iden/Cassian in 1 and a mystery product in the other?
Edit: I also don't get why anyone is surprised/shocked/dismayed by this. Iirc q4 has traditionally had the "let's announce the fluff stuff that would be a great Xmas present, except it won't be available till may"
Edited by RalgonThe amusing thing is that FFG thought everyone would be so excited, they gave us advanced notice that these articles were coming.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m pleased that they’re making paints, but they don’t think something... more, is required?
Maybe a Specialists pack for the two new factions would have been a better idea, but instead, paint, a worlds article and two more OT units?
Heavy on the 🧂 please.
*laughs in citadel contrast paint and Vallejo model color*
So... overall is it a good thing that they are leading with this product first to get it out of the system with the best yet to come or should they have led with something juicier and finish with the paints since we would have already had our fix of new units articles?
Either way, my wallet is currently still happy and will have less trouble recovering from the holidays!
Geez people.. just try to be happy with what you've got..
some people probably have to play with the Turkish Star Wars Lesion..

I will go super positive and say this first release was the build up and also somewhat of a misfire. Tomorrow they will show off the paint and most likely the big Clone Wars terrain piece while they are painting. And their showstopper will be Cassian and K2S0....... also Iden will be there as well.
Just bad communication and most likely leaks sort of messed them up. Really thought they would begin showing stuff from Q2 2020 early as a "we are sorry", not filling out the Q1 releases.

I’m not sure what Star Wars Lesion is, but it sounds painful. Is that what happens if you don’t conform?
Man, you guys are so picky and needy. There are 12 announced products waiting in the wings before this, and last month they released like 6 (admittedly one of those was a delay because of production errors, but still). There is a LOT of stuff coming out in a short time frame, and FFG happens to drop they're still announcing upcoming products in Dec so even if nothing will get released this month there will still be some new news to look forward to. Because people kept asking if there would be product announcements still, they want to know where the new product is. FFG didn't build anything up, they just said they would have a few articles, which for clarification total 5 new products, and some of the articles were delayed. Because YOU kept asking. Now the products you insisted they let you know are coming are detailed, and they aren't whatever you made up in your head they were. That's not FFGs fault, it's yours. Your preconceptions clouded reality, so when a perfectly normal announcement comes out, you're like "THIS ISN'T MY OFFICIAL STAR WARS LEGION HOLOGRAPHIC GAME TABLE AND SOUND BOARD WHICH ALSO COOKS ME A STEAK! IT'S JUST PAINT!" It was always just paint. Because you assumed, you made an butt of you. FFG is just trying to be more communicative - they are refining release windows, making the upcoming page more clear, they are spreading news on multiple outlets across further products - no longer is this "expect something big in Star Wars Armada" and two years later the SSD comes out. Just a friendly line "hey announcing more product, Legion isn't dead". The people who are so riled aren't happy Legion is just alive and breathing, they want it to return the dead to life or cure cancer or something. Relax, they can only produce and announce so much. If you're so eager to spend money buy like four more boxes of droids to paint when the paints come out - maybe you'll have them all assembled by March.
There are FFG game lines which get like 3-4 releases a year, let alone some of the effectively ended ones. Calm yo self, the only one hyping themselves up for disappointment is you.
And do not let people deceive you into thinking CW is somehow a second-class citizen or mistreated just because two new GCW commanders are probably about to be announced, the upcoming product slate is still on par or slightly in favor to CW-themed releases.

I think it's given that we will see 1 CIS product and 1 Republic Product reveal. I bet they will both be Special forces.
I figured the third article would be the Iden/Cassien reveal, but I guess not??

FFG has some of the worst marketing/community awareness I've ever seen. Those products were revealed back in August with a scheduled release in Feb (most likely March/April). People should be upset with FFG.

The only issue is if the paint sets count as 2 of the 5 items to be revealed then that only leaves 3 left, with Iden and Cassian likely eating up the next two slots that leaves one which if we are honest is likely to be an objective kit expansion since Alex Davy had mentioned some time ago we were getting another one and it was supposed to be coming out this fall but it got pushed back. If we are lucky the 3rd item will be a scenery pack like the R2 and 3PO one where the Empire and CIS both get an operative unit they can use.

A new objective pack hadn't occurred to me. While that wouldn't be as cool as an actual unit, it's a close second.
Hilarious on how FFG belives to have become Games Workshop .
Poor things.
I'm just gonna say this:
i told you so
in the other forum i guessed that two of.the five new sets will be paint sets, and guess what does come out - paint sets. yippee
Some of you moof-milkers are sad. Many companies can hardly put out a handful of models a year let alone a month not to mention side support items like terrain and paint-sets.
Its gimme, gimme, gimme yesterday!
Be thankful FFG can handle all its products the way it does.

I think people are only upset due to the hype up on facebook from FFG marketing.
Just watch it dry. Fascinating.
All the griping.. I'm actually glad for the paints. Believe it or not, there are people that might actually want to get the paints they need - some don't have them, especially if new to the hobby.
If they want to keep me from buying more Legion well into spring I'm down with it... just means more cash to spend on Sisters of Battle and Warhammer Underworlds.
