RPG version of Runebound

By FatPob, in Runebound

Just wondering with the extensive background (via the BGs), is there any thought on making an RP of it?

I really like Runebound and Descent, and with the variety of races etc would make a nice rpg - it sort of reminds me of talislanta.

any thoughts?

The subject has been raised more than a few times, but as far as I know there hasn't been an official response from FFG regarding their plans or willingness to make one.

The amount of information about the Terrinoth world has been expanding quite a bit lately, particularly with Runewars officially bringing the Battlemist/Dragon Wars game line into the same universe, so there's certainly enough info to work with.

Personally, I don't think it would be that hard to just run a D&D game using these figures for any combat. You might want to make a few homebrew magic items from some of the more popular item cards from various games, but a lot of this stuff can be equated to generic D&D stuff anyway. Or, if you dislike D&D, just about any fantasy-themed RPG could probably do the same trick. I'm just saying is all. I've thought about doing this myself, and some day I just might.

As interested as I would be to see a Terrinoth RPG, I'm not 100% certain I'd buy it, simply for how easy it would be to kitbash my own game if I really wanted to do this. Then again, a single reference book that puts all the fluff and details about creatures and kingdoms, etc, together in some kind of logical order would be nice. =)

I agree with Steve-O's assesment of this.

I would be inclined to take what I have of Terrinoth based board games and use them to add flavor to a d20 based game.

Depending on your RP tastes, other systems could suffice.
