Maybe in the future they will revisit the hero 15 card deck portions and give extra cards to each hero to expand your options.

For example 5 new cards per hero for say 12 heroes is 60 cards in a pack.

You now have 20 cards for those heroes, maybe you still have to reduce down to 15 maybe you can play all 20 who knows?

Its a valid option though.

Yeah I don't know that I think everyone needs it, but it's certainly an option. Specifically I think it'd be cool for another Iron Man suit.

Her not being included in Thor's deck is probably a good indication we will, considering she'd essentially end up being a dead card in Thor's deck if that's the case and I highly doubt FFG is going to use a character that is a hero in it's own right as a hero-specific persona or ally.

I'm sure you're right, but it's unfortunate that a great support character for 50 years gets left out in order to make space for She-Thor.

It would be more unfortunate if Jane Foster could never be played as Thor with Thor by virtue of being just a persona.

Jane Foster and MJ have a lot of history with Thor and Spidey but I wouldn't say either are the defining relationship in their respective hero's history. Aunt May defines Spidey's values more than MJ and Thor's tumultuous relationships with Odin and Loki are much more meaningful to the character. Does that mean Design is also doing it this way to leave the door open for Jane/Thor or Jane/Valkyrie? I sure hope so! Jane/Thor got me back into collecting comics and her story arcs were excellent so I'll buy her hero pack if they make it.

Speaking of MJ, it occurred to me that "rescue missions" might be a thing in the future. We've seen them in LOTR and I'm sure they've been in Arkham Horror (I think, I'm less familiar with that one) so I'd be surprised if we didn't see one with a Marvel twist.

I don't really know what this looks like for LOTR - but for Marvel, they could add Allies as encounter cards, and have side schemes/environment cards or whatever that adds rules for 'saving' such NPCs . That'd be cool.

If we're ever going to see Jane Foster as a hero in her own pack I'd imagine it more likely it would be as Valkyrie.

She’s literally starring in Thor: Love and Thunder in the MCU.

She could be released as both, but I hiiiighly doubt they’d go with Valkyrie over Thor. (Also skeptical because I wasn’t aware Jane was ever a Valkyrie, tbh.)

Or, FFG could offer both. Instead of getting on a soapbox, we could explore creative gaming.

Honestly I think the uniqueness rule will probably need to be reworked eventually or treated more as a suggestion. Like, it's fine for balance that you can't just play 10 Nick Fury in your deck, or that you can't have four people all play Nick Fury the same round. But if this game still exists in 5 years and we get to the point where Legendary is now with like 5 different Peter Parker Spidermen one of which is a villain and another couple Spiderpeople and like 3 Wolverines and so on and so on I think trying to come up with different titles and stuff could be more trouble than it's worth.

And like one of the awesome things about comics is crazy Crisis crossovers so I don't see a reason to worry about the "realism" of having say, Falcon and both an Ally of one hero at the table and then also being there as a Hero.

There is enough diversity of character choices for FFG that they could easily avoid the ridiculousness of the Spider-verse. It has it's place in a massive comic book universe that is current day Marvel. However, when making a game that currently features less than 10 heroes, going down the road of making every variant of the same hero, aka, She-Thor, is completely unnecessary. It's already a shame we can't have Squirrel Girl as a hero, but I'll try to get over that one. As for new hero choices, I hope FFG explores every possibility before coming back to repeat heroes we already have. Just exploring the X-Men would take FFG many years.

I was being practical, not trying to convert you from being an MRA.

Just because you can create a character for both types doesn’t mean you should. And it’s a much harder line to draw in the sand if someone is a signature card, because they become a dead signature card if both heroes get picked.
That’s a very hard left turn to take in the early game. The apparent eBay leak that Black Widow is coming remains somewhat mind boggling to me in that she only ticks two boxes: 1) current movie relevancy, 2) sentiment for players who appreciate the depiction so far.

The drawbacks to Widow (and hulk) are fairly self evident: an already limited pool for aggression/protection gets that much more so; Widow is about as far to the edge of being a superhero as you can get, and I’ve always considered the character more superhero adjacent, like Nick Fury. Somewhat worse, Black Widows ally card is one of the most useful in the game, being one of the only methods to avert a threat out from double advance. That’s a huge loss, the Hulk is, comparatively, not as important an ally card in this pool.

That being said, I’d have much preferred any hero not appearing in this game to any repeats within the 2nd wave no less. A very few of the many options: Ghost Rider, Iron Fist, Amadeus Cho Hulk, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Blade, Ant-Man, Wasp.

I kindof expect Black Widow’s kit to have some alternative answers to the Encounter deck, so that you’re not really missing out on that ally when you play her Hero.

As for Hulk, I really hope there are additional limitations to switching forms, now that I think about it. Or maybe not limitations, but some form of forced switching based on other factors. And I wouldn’t be shocked to see his ally card ability show up in some form on his Hero side, either.
