Very ready for new points....

What exactly makes your X-Wing life so miserable?
I think most of the points are pretty fine.

Certain Force Users are a big problem and under costed...
Here's what strikes me.
FFG first started to say that they'd update points 3 times a year, every 4 months. Before long, they switched to a 6 months, 2 times a year rotation. I mean, the more-frequently schedule might never really have been serious, but there was some chatter about it, I believe.
If they'd have stuck to faster plan, we'd have gotten new points like a week ago. That would have felt pretty good. Four months between updates really seems like it'd be ideal. Enough of a length of time to keep things interesting and fresh, but not overly quick.

I'll say Sear Swarms should look at Sear and TA175 first before directly at the Vultures. Sear is at 39 and the Skakoan Ace is at 41...those should probably swap at least. TA175 should probably cost 8-10 pts. After that, it's gotta be a hard consideration to hit the drones or struts even because those have multiplying effects on list building.

Hmmm. 5x I3, 3 red, 5 hp and a really nice dial with crack or marks? If they do that I hope the single packs aren't that far behind.
There’s a few duds I’d like to see boosted. And a boat of force users that need a bat.

I'd agree. Also, given the prevalence of TA-175 over Kraken, I'd like to see Kraken go down to about 7 and TA go up to about 8 or 9. Kraken was the super-Relay when Separatists were released, but TA-175 has really become the go-to in most cases.
As an aside, I'd also like to see the other two decreased in cost, just to see what kind of lists shake out.
I think 3 months is too short.
4 would be ... titillating, in the sense that we'd be rocking from one exciting toy to the next.
6 gets a bit burdensome, but its also helpful to let people really play out their over-powered likes so they can start afresh on a new season. I'm not done bashing ppl's heads in with jedi.
6 months... that means every 182 days, 12 hours and zero seconds down to the nanosecond or no balls
chop chop
I definitely prefer a more rapid iteration. The more often you do it, the more you learn and the smaller the changes have to be.
But there’s still stuff from Wave I that sees no play, and other stuff from Wave I that’s a bit over represented (looking at you, Soontir...).
If they updated every 4 months, most changes could be one point, and nothing more than 4 or so, and we’d still already be close to an awesome equilibrium.
Still, January isn’t far away, and what are we? The 1% or so? It’s probably fine, we’re just picky
Having the points change more frequently would also help the ships and upgrades they dun goofed on with points changes. Some changes they've made have missed the mark, and we have to wait another 6 months for them to fix their fix.
Do I however appreciate them being wary of slamming down a points change in the middle of comp season though.
Edited by BVRCHI agree. I think every four months would be much better than twice a year.

Hey dude. It's just hyperbole.
But I am starting to feel like the Force and Vultures are dancing on either side of me, right up in my face, and I'm getting ready to lose it.
Metaphorically.
Throw down.
Edit:
I actually agree...most points are really fine. I'm just ready to see things shook up a bit.

Generally speaking, the single Force pilots are reasonable to deal with.
It's when you get to the two and three Force pilots that you could make the case that they are under-costed.
Force seems to get more valuable (per Force) as the amount of Force increases.
I don't think this is really reflected among the pilots that currently use Force.
I guess some of you miss the point of the point adujustments. They are adjustments to balance the game - not just to "shake it up".
Maybe it is even a sales / marketing tool (introduce new fighters cheap so they sell well for a season and then bring them in line).
But yeah some Force pilots seem underpriced. They bring Push the limit back... only unblockable and other benefits (can use the force when needed, piece a piece, no commitment to the focus action necessary).
The biggest offender is Anakin, Obi-Wan and a little bit Vader (the last one is at least not viable for arcdodging)

It's a force multiplier.
I actually don't mind the 6 months - I have a suspicion that the more competitive players, or the ones who have more opportunities to play in general, are the ones who want to see the points changes come more quickly.

I don’t play competitively at all. I’ve never been to an OP event and I rarely get out to my FLGS. It’s mostly kitchen table X-Wing for me.
But even I want missiles, bombs, generic interceptors, and YT2400s to be usable without feeling like I’m shooting myself in the foot.
I’m deeply interested in game design so I follow the balancing process of this game very closely. Balance isn’t for competitive play only; it makes the game better for everyone. It makes me sad when people expect casuals like me to either be satisfied with an unbalanced game or to try doing all the rebalancing as homebrew: I’m a big believer in playing a game as originally intended.
The devs have more to do than stare at the meta and revise PDFs.
I want new content, not quarterly reports on the state of the game.
Also, I'm going to bet most people play once or twice a month. Having thing shuffle every 3 months is going to make the game feel like an unstable moving target.

Seconded, @Darth Meanie . However, I play weekly. I get it, though. With a shorter period before changes happen, the game never really settles out.

With more frequent changes, you get to the place where very few changes are ever needed much sooner.
I'm still waiting to fly a not-terrible Dash list in 2.0 (miss me with that Han/Roark bs.)
