Episode 9 expected viewership: A Poll

By ForceSensitive, in X-Wing

So now that the final trailers are dropping, I'm just so morbidly curious, who's going to see it in let's say the first week?

Vote by reacting to this post, comment and discuss POLITELY if you'd like below.

Laughing face = Going for SURE.

Confused face = Definitely NOT going.

Sad face = Don't make me choose.

Like Heart = You have no opinion but are curious about the poll results.

Thanks Trophy = Instructions unclear, crashed Space ship in swamp.

After every new trailer, my wife has some refrain of: "they're really not going to tell us what this movie is actually about, are they?"

Given that trailers have previously used footage that never ended up in the final cut, I have to admit she's probably right. We'll still go see it in the first few days, though.

Iirc my wife and daughter will be going. I'm waiting for the DvD/BluRay release.

Will go, but 3rd or 4thbweeknof release. Disney has screwed it all up.

Errr....I need to make sure it fits with my family's plan. We all want to go as soon as we can, but just not sure what's going on that weekend. I WANT to go the first week, but real life might stop me.

My wife loved TLJ, so she's hyped. We'll be going on Friday the 20th.

I'll be ****** if I let my wife be a better SW fan than I am!!

I'll be there at midnight. Ticket sales are slightly behind The Last Jedi but only very slightly, maybe 2% or so.

I’m going, but not in an immediate rush. Probably just going to go first available $5 movie night our local theater does midweek.

i have to know how they wrap it up, even if I’m nervous about it.

I've got my tickets for the first show.

I don't really enjoy the sequel trilogy and Disney has been making me mad.

But I'll be there...

I will go as soon as able, but I am not excited for the movie.

I'm not excited mainly because the trailers and adverts really haven't sold me any kind of story. They just show a lot of interesting imagery but with very little substance behind it. As best I can tell, it's a story where C-3PO says good-bye to his friends while Palpatine narrates. I am a huge supporter of the films and genuinely enjoy them all so far, but this one seems like a lot of sound and fury signifying nothing.

Maybe the film is great, but the Marketing folks haven't been doing a great job showing that.

From the trailers and tv clips, this looks like a trainwreck, but I got two free tickets for a showing, so im going, hopeing to be positively surprised. I am pretty prepared to soon erase this new trilogy from my personal head Canon though :)

Definitely going and can't wait, might be in the minority but I'm excited!

More excited for the mandolorian episode that week, but I’ll go see the dumpster fire in theaters. Who knows, maybe it’ll even be good.

Maybe it will sound like a flushing toilet. Flushing away the turd that was TLJ.

Is there a way to put 2 laughing face if me and my girlfriend intend to go twice in the first week?

Maybe, maybe not. Saw an interview with the cast “show us your face of how you feel about the film.” Anthony Daniels was very telling. Like “what the frak” and then he said “after 40 years, THIS is how it ends?”

I am going in expecting TLJ level nonsense. Hopefully I am wrong.

If I’m not, at least we know. And hopefully Disney learns their lesson and starts making big screen stuff the way they’ve been doing small screen stuff (really enjoying the Mandalorian so far)

I don't know about this one. I enjoyed TFA, without much critical commentary. I defended TLJ warts and all, because I thought the underlying theme of the force trying something differently this time around was interesting. But.... returning Palpatine is comic-book brinkmanship at it's worst. I can't think of anything more fan-servicey than this.

Return of the Jedi had PERFECT closure.

- Destroying Sheev,

- Redeeming Anakin,

- Elevating Luke to Jedi - resisting the same failure that cursed his father and breaking the entire cycle in the process

..All in a single scene. Whatever else you want to hate about ROTJ (cough*murderbears*cough), that was a thematically perfect ending. PERFECT. I don't mind new threats growing from the ashes of the old. I don't even mind Luke's subsequent failure as a Jedi Master. But THIS undoes the entire purpose of Luke and Anakin's journeys.

This is like bringing Sauron back for Lord of the Rings Too: Electric Boogaloo.

Bad.

Bad.

Bad.

I don't even care if it is executed to cinematic perfection. It is thematically broken now, and I highly doubt there is any way to fix it. I've managed to fully avoid spoilers beyond the trailers, but I don't have good hope here.

It's too late for me. Dave Filoni is my master now.

I’ll see it opening night. I’ll watch it again that weekend and then again with my kids within a week. I’m very excited about it. Love the direction of the ST and looking forward to a new one soon.

I think I'm just going to ignore this and wait until Disney finally gets enough of a clue to put Favreau and Filoni in charge of some big-screen projects.

2 years and you guys can still complain about TLJ?

Well, in two years has I improved in any way? No. FFS, it even sucks as background noise. Mary Sue got more mary sue. Poe started wearing panties. Some purple haired bimbo came in and took control. It was horrible. The space horse casino scene? Not to even mention Leah effing mary Poppins.

TLJ sucked. Not a single good point. I like Rogue One. Solo was a.fun hiest/crime movie.

Tim wont give disney money first two weeks when it counts.

I’ll go see it. I’m curious to see the story, though I don’t particularly care if it’s good or bad.

Good job @FlyingAnchors , I'll call the qudrijet to get you out LMAO 😂

Huh. Interesting result really. More staunch RESISTANCE, less REBELLION than I expected lol.

Me, I'm just waiting on the space battle super cut on YouTube. Past that, after three and a half strikes out of four that were the other movies, I just don't care.

I'll be there at 6pm on Thursday. Bring on the salt, I love it - I'm crazy excited for what I expect to be a great film to close out the saga. TV spots/trailers look dope.

Now isn't that a nice freudian slip right there
