But, then I found a very cut-rate Servants of Strife set. And it’s possible to get to 200 points with just those and the C-ROC I already have... or perhaps via a holiday discounted Nantex. But hey, at least I’m holding the line somewhere... I’m definitely not gonna get that ooglay Sith Infiltrator. Unless it’s on sale. Or unless I can’t find the unique crew from it somewhere...

Anyway, I definitely wasn’t planning to start yet another faction, but here we are. I blame Black Friday. But am I alone? Are there any other tales of holiday X-Wing shame this year?!

I too bought separatists because of Black Friday. It made me buy one of everything from the CIS from my LGS and their big sale!

You mean you all don't have at least one of every ship from each of the seven factions? And often in multiples?

Am I doing this wrong?

It was a point of pride for me heading into 2.0 that I wanted—and managed—to strip down some serious bloat in my collection. I got completely out of Rebels, I was mostly out of Resistance, and I drew a hard line on getting into Clankers.

If only I’d have found takers for my two T-70s, I bet I wouldn’t be back in this pickle again!!

I have 2 Decimators, but I purchased another one. Why? It was cheap!

I didn't buy (or re-buy) into a third faction because I'm happy with what I have and still have ships I haven't flown in 2.0 or repainted yet.

I did however use the FLGS 40% off all FFG products to finally buy into Legion to fill the hole that dissatisfaction with 40k and AoS left in my heart...

Personally, I’ve been on a quest this year to make sure I fly all my physical ship models at least once each. I somewhat recently finished doing that. Took me from April to November. So I guess, by that logic, I have capacity for flying another whole faction inside of a year?

I’m also a semi-recovering 40k addict. I miss it, but it’s time-prohibitive these days. My buddy and I keep talking about trying to make Kill Team work again, and maybe we will this time... though 200/6 X-Wing is just so freakin’ sweet, and thanks to some of his own Black Friday purchases, he’s got a couple huge ships too...

Feels that way for sure. Now I feel a need to pick up some more vultures beyond what my LGS has and started saying “roger roger” during the perform action step.

I too am one the “fly them all at least once in a year” quest. Always have some ships that do better at that than others, but I always manage to fit in at least once*

*so far, year-to-year was Sep 2018 at 2.0 launch until worlds 2019. We’ll see how 2019-20 goes

I wish there was a good way to get six more vultures myself, because two full wing might be A Thing.

Yeaaaah I’ve been planning on that >_> I only need to get one more SOS and 3 more expacs to have 6-per-paintjob (counting Shiny as the TFD wing leader). Haven’t had the budget—or the huge conversion kit for my friend’s huge ships—but it’s gonna happen one day.

I suggest only borrowing the extras? It'll be rare that you want to use 12 and the first official 500pt event I'll be attending has put a limit of 8 on each ship type - precisely to limit the number of vultures anyone can spam.

I got a 1/2 dozen N-1s as well, and scored 4 Hyenas for my brother.

Luckily, my wife doesn't care. 🤑

I also did my duty and removed a Raider from overstock to repaint as a FO version.

Source? The only thing I've seen mentioned supporting this is a single event where the group that organized it made that stipulation.

About a dozen old PDFs that have been superseded, apparently.

In 1.0 it was 12 small and 4 large.

At the end of 1.0 and the beginning of 2.0 it dropped to 8 small and 4 large. I can't remember where mediums fit in.

I can no longer find a ship limit based on size in the current literature.

Well, my brother will be excited to field 12 B-Wings again. Heck, more than 12 now, apparently. And it's no nevermind to me either.

Except for the part where a revolving-door ruleset makes it a PIA to keep up with the game.

Until FFG puts something for the current version in writing, only ship count limit for Epic is a suggestion of no more than 50% of the list's points in huge ships for events in the last pages of the Epic Rules Reference, just check with any group you play with outside of your usual quality time with your brother if they have any hard limits. Ideally before hand by a few days so you have time to adjust what you're planning to bring. One of the quirks of casual gaming, the differences in how things are done from group to group are boundless in number.
