Is it possible to exchange or transfer artifacts between two heroes that you own?

Also, is it possible to trade artifacts with another player's hero?

Or are the artifacts that your hero earns completely non-transferable?

The rules don't mention anything about transfering or trading. House rules oughta do the trick.
