Just curious what Epic conversions are those? Aren't those in the Epic Battles expansion?

Price has increased with $3 as it is now $ 53

Weirder still using url you provided I can order it for $53 and I did, but searching I get the pages I saw. I am guessing Amazon is giving different prices depending on where you are??

Amazon search function = trash, confirmed.

If you search in a web browser for amazon x-wing imperial raider, the one he linked is the first that comes up.

Is it possible that this is a result of available stock? There are tons of Raiders and C-ROCs still out there floating around. You'll be hard-pressed to find a CR-90 or a Rebel Transport though.

I'm definitely glad they didn't stop the CR-90; I want one pretty bad and it's hard to find a 1.0 version anywhere near MSRP, and the Rebel Transport is almost impossible to find at all (even at 3-4x MSRP). The Raider and C-ROC are marked down a full 50% on Amazon etc. and the Gozanti isn't so bad.

Not saying I'm happy with it but I kinda get it.

FFG really needs to hire some business coaching. This stuff is just so sad to me. I love the product and I want it to enjoy a nice long lifespan. 😢

With as ambitious as these first years are in terms of their rereleased items, I'm not really surprised they hit a snag like this. I'm actually impressed it took this long in a way. And on what it happened on, like yeah, that makes sense.

Good news though, the old Raider still came with a TIE advanced, which is a nice bonus. I hope they all sell quickly...I need more... Targets 😈

yeah it kinda bums me out too. Oh well. They've gotta focus their time and energy where it's gonna be useful, and less people buy Epic than standard 200/6 stuff

Why? No boost to TIE/Advanced or super helpful Palp.... that's why.

Yes, this is exactly the reason.

In addition, due to overwhelming stock of the first edition Imperial Raider (grey box), we will not be printing or releasing the second edition Imperial Raider (black box). We're very sorry for the miscommunication on this...

Miscommunication? That is a bit of a stretch... Clearly FFG had designed a box and the various product/news pages about the 2.0 Raider, so it doesn't seem like just a miscommunication; it certainly seems like a 2.0 release was planned at one point. Wasn't there even an announcement that the 2.0 Raider was delayed until 1st quarter 2020? I swear I saw a post about that somewhere...and now suddenly they've cancelled it. They would have had to start printing and manufacturing the 2.0 Raider about 4-6 months ago, so it seems weird they would have let this miscommunication go on for this long.

Ah well.

I was one who did not buy the first edition epic ships, I just picked up the CR-90 and C-Roc. I had the raider on preorder through Game Nerds. I cancelled that order and picked up the first edition raider on Amazon and the huge ship conversion kit from my local CoolStuff. So in the end it cost me only $2 more then my preorder. However I now have a mostly useless conversion kit. If any of you guys in the US need some of the non raider items from the kit PM me and we can work something out a trade or something

Maybe it is because the dial was wrong.

I am displeased to hear this. I exclusively purchase 2.0 products now and yet have no desire to get the coversion kits for 1.0 products. Thank to FFG's Legion game though, I am pretty patient with getting said products in time though, and I don't mind waiting.

I have been watching @Crabbok for a while now on youtube. I was listening to his video this morning on a bus going to work, I start at stupid o'clock so was semi conscious. Then Crabbok dropped the BS comment and I was jerked out of my sleepyness. You know when Crabbok swears, which I cannot even remember the last time that happened, **** is getting real. With items being shown in production and on the ship for months, cancelling two weeks before a release date is beyond poor business practices.
They would have known about this for a long time, trying to do a sneaky "news" release is just bad. I haven't bought an Epic conversion kit, and it looks like I doubt I will now. I do not want to support this kind of behaviour.

Sorry to the epic fiends out there that their game mode is being treated like secondary game DLC.

I totally get where you're coming from, but take a look at the numbers. They were going to sell Raider 2.0 for $80. Right now, if you're in the US, you can order the Raider 1.0 for $50 and the conversion kit for $30. For the same money down, you get all the extra cards and ephemera from the conversion kit, and you get a free TIE Advanced model too.

Edit: I just realized you might not be talking about the Raider, but rather one of the other ships that were delayed. That does suck, no way around it.

Yeah, I get it, just the perfectionist side of me, and you are correct, I wanted Saw's Renegades and the TIE Reaper as well.

The old boxes do come with 2.0 components, no conversion necessary.

Well geez, okay FFG.

Anyway, uh. Yeah, I guess you can get a Raider for cheap. ****, buy several Raiders, even.

There's certainly been alot of unfortunate things going on with FFG lately - but particularly with Huge Ships. The whole things is just different. I have a feeling like this is just damage control. My guess, is that after the CR-90 dial debacle, they decided to check out one of the raiders before they all got loaded on the truck... and the found some sort of disaster - like perhaps even MORE misprints. Rather than let them ship, they came up with this story about how they decided "They aren't going to print these".

But that's just a guess. All I know is there have been TOO many mistakes lately. FFG you are BETTER than this. Slow down, do some quality control. You make AMAZING games - but these errors are becoming too frequent and are frankly unacceptable. I'm still rooting for you - even when I get frustrated.

That's crap. A lot of people are stoaked for Epic, and if no one cared about it, no one would care the Raider wasn't coming.

Also, Epic could push sales as folks with only a couple of starfighters now need to flesh out wings.

That's certainly a self-fulfilling prophecy if they pull product.

*sigh*

Yeah, I'm trying not to go there, because I really think FFG wants Epic to get some love.

Also, the Raider isn't the only hit: Saw's and Reapers got the axe, too.

But a lot of the online retailers make the Raider look like it is Out Of Stock, as Crabbok points out in the video.

I was planning on getting a 2.0 Raider to repaint in FO livery, just because. So, I guess I'm just gonna get a 1.0 version for 1/2 the price as I Christmas shop (one gift for the nephew, one for me. . .}, help FFG out with over stock, and help y'all get a hot new 2.0 release someday (TM}.

Yeah, I'm guessing this, too. But I guess it would be nicer just to say that. . .

"Bummer, but I want a good product" is much better than "WTF Why not??"

That would make sense if they had simply delayed the release until 2nd quarter while they reprinted/packed everything. But to cancel it entirely? Seems strange.

Thanks for reporting on this though. I was able to snag the last 1st ed Raider from my not-so-local store and a Huge Ship Conversion from another LGS. I guess I should look at it as a good thing since I'm getting a TIE Advanced with it. :) I might pick up a Rebel Transport too.

Okay, now go and find one... most of the local stock is gone, and no new orders because 2.0 was supposedly going to bring these ships in. There might be a few stores that have them, but for the most part they don’t.

I think Crabbok touched on it briefly in his video, but I wonder if they printed too many conversion kits and want to sell those to new players? idk it seems kinda weird.

@Darth Meanie I hear why you're upset but idk, I just feel like epic is less popular and that's part of this. like you say, it might be a self-fulfilling prophecy, but it's part of the equation. It doesn't make me happy but it's part of what I think's going on.

I think this morning we got this sorted out with Crabbok but there's a couple different X-Wing Discord Servers which is partially where the confusion is coming from. That being said, I personally do think it's kinda odd that they're sharing stuff with us Discord folks without informing their distributors or posting it on their website. I greatly appreciate them wanting to keep us in the loop but it seems like an odd way to do it.

Last saturday there was a whole stash at DutchComicCon for € 30 ($ 33). It was the german version. I threw away the cards and replaced them with the 2.0 cards.

On the German Amazon there's one for € 53 now: amazon.de/dp/1616616741 (1 in stock) and for € 56.

Epic players might be less in numbers, but they buy a higher ship count, and more expensive ships.

But with FFG hard botching Epic and Huge (re)release like this, numbers are in danger of not increasing.

X-wing is far more than the 200/3 side of things which shows up mostly here.

Both kits, the Huge Ship Conversion kit and the Epic Battles kit. Both are generally unavailable in most countries, with no word on a release date. A year or two ago FFG releases were far more reliable, and when the boat was ionized, the delay was usually worldwide. Now, releases are spread across weeks if not months, with the US (and I think the UK) getting stock on the actual date, and everywhere else sometime later, seemingly determined at random and with no info to retailers or customers.

Compared to Wizards and GW, this FFG is just awful to deal with, and it's a real shame.
