I originally flew it as a three ship list with lots of heavy ordnance just after 2.0 was released. However, when revisiting it recently I realized that I could fit another ship in it if I just stripped away som ordnance.

The basic mechanics of this list is:

Essege does a double focus, Garven does a target lock, dutch does a target lock and gives an extra to Esege.

Essege uses focus from garven and pass it on to dutch.

Dutch and R3 is a given combo, and the Ion cannon tower is there to boost his damage output and compensate for sluggish dial

I generally hate the K-wing dial, by stapling the tower to right-left and having both adv. proton and cluster missiles the 270° arc makes up for it

Garven gets an R4 to better handle stress.

For a 39 point forth ship I have a few thoughts:

Jake farrell at 36 points is a good way of continiouing the doubble mod theme. However 2 attack dies are lots of meh.

Arwel with intimidation is a really fun build, and by throwing in a Predator he can almost makes his own double mod when in bulls-eye. On the negative side, his low initiative makes it somewhat hard to set up those perfect bumps. But on the positive side, he have a tendency to draw a lot of enemy fire since people hate the whole initiative lowering shenanigans.

Another idea I have been toying with is Hera in attack shuttle at exactly 39 points. Three attack dies and I5 is not bad, and her maneuverability looks great on paper. However, I have never flown with her and have no idea on how good she is in practice.

Would love to hear more ideas from you people!

Hi!

I'm currently playing a similar list.

Dutch and Garven with Jake Farell and Ten Numb: all of them have a pilot skill of 4.

Never used Esege: I prefer to fly in formation and I cannot use correctly the slam action.

Here the list...

New Squadron

(48) Ten Numb [A/SF-01 B-wing]

(0) Jamming Beam

(2) Tractor Beam

(1) Crack Shot

Points: 51

(40) "Dutch" Vander [BTL-A4 Y-wing]

(1) Crack Shot

(9) Plasma Torpedoes

(5) Ion Cannon Turret

Points: 55

(47) Garven Dreis [T-65 X-wing]

(0) Servomotor S-foils

(1) Crack Shot

Points: 48

(36) Jake Farrell [RZ-1 A-wing]

(7) Proton Rockets

(1) Crack Shot

(1) Marksmanship

Points: 45

Total points: 199

it would not be amazing but a a-wing psp with squad leader is a 34 point cordinating ship with lots of green moves to clear stress.

Garven can roll naked and Dutch with as little as Plasma Torps and you have 2 very effective little sharers

You can find a bit better of a blocker than Arvel, and a Leia carrier to boot, in Heff Tober with Intimidation and Leia

You could round out the last 49 points with Biggs

B-Wing: Ten Numb - FCS
E-Wing: Gavin Darklighter - FCS
Y-Wing: "Dutch" Vander - PlasmaTorp and R4
A-Wing: Jake Farrell

"Dutch" can set up locks for Ten Numb and Gavin, more so E-Wing can Lock at Range 1 thanks to the shared action. Jake gives Focuses around to others.

Perfect activation looks more or less, either Jake or "Dutch" first, to give Focuses or Locks around. If possible, Jake grants Focus to "Dutch", who can Lock as his Action. Gavin Focuses and either gets a Lock or has it thanks to FCS, he can always start with at least one from initial actions.

You have two natural 3 Red Dice, "Dutch" can throw Proton Torpedoes for 3 Red Dice and a Shield burn, having R4 to burn stress from Reloads if necessary. Jake can pew pew for 2 Red Dice.

The only non-double mod turn is, when "Dutch" either has to give a Lock to more than one ship, due to them burning it on the turn before, or when he has to Reload the Torpedoes.

The only ship that needs to fly close to "Dutch" is Jake, initiating his double mod. "Dutch" works in range 1-3, Gavin just needs to have the same enemy in his own arc.

EDIT:

Is it tripple modded if you can roll with a Lock, Focus and Hit > Crit mod? * intense thinking *

EDIT 2:

  • Benthic Two-Tubes (U-Wing): Perceptive Copilot, FCS
  • "Dutch" Vander (Y-Wing): naked
  • Garven Dreis (X-Wing): naked
  • Ten Numb (B-Wing): FCS

Benthic activates first and drops two Focus Tokens on himself and can share one to a friendly ship. "Dutch" can once more share a Lock each turn to anyone, with Ten Numb and Benthic having FCS to stick to them some more. Garven can still share a Focus Token, if he uses one, engaging double mods on "Dutch".
