Veteran Turret Gunner and Hardpoints

How does this interact with the Bonus Attack header, since all the hardpoints use that header instead of the “Attack” header on the turret upgrades?

Do they have to use the Bonus Attack header?

If so, since a huge ship can only use a given bonus attack header once per engagement phase, does Veteran Turret Gunner actually do anything on a huge ship?

Vet Turret Gunner doesn't do anything with hardpoints. You would still have to use the Energy or whatever requirement to fire the Hardpoint....and you can fire it anyways without the Vet Gunner card, so it doesn't add anything.

Veteran Turret Gunner does help if you happen to have a Huge ship that has a Turret as a weapon. If we look at the Broken Horn title, it allows you to get a Cannon, Missile, and Turret upgrade, but then only fire one of them as a bonus action. So, if you had Vet Turret Gunner, you could fire say..a Cannon...and also fire the Turret in the same turn.

If the Huge Ship's hard point has not fired that turn yet (each Bonus Attack: header can only be used once per turn) and has either the single or double turret arc symbol, then yes. You can use Veteran Turret Gunner to attack with it as a bonus attack after attacking with the ships primary attack. Still have to pay the costs of performing the attack as the upgrade outlines though so it is really pointless. You could just pay the cost outlined on the card and perform its attack even without Vet Tur Gunner.

Currently there is no ship that can have both Turret (Non hardpoint that is) and Gunners.

CR-90 and Gozanti comes with Gunners built in (and can get a 2nd one from a title). Raider can get a Gunner from Title.

GR-75 has Turret, C-ROC can get it from Config/Title.

At the moment no overlap.

Not saying future titles/upgrades won't bring this about, just saying that at the moment the VTG really does nothing on Huge ships.

* C-ROC is also the only ship that can have more turret weapons than turret arc indicators. Having 1 hardpoint and 2 turret slot options if both title and config is applied.
