So i was just wondering aside from new ships do you think that when clone wars come out for armada there will be different dynamic to the game or just a different way to play or will it just be armada with different ship skins? Ideas, thoughts?
Clone wars vs Star Wars
Hm. I doubt they’ll change core mechanics. At most a rebalancing/errata of upgrades that would break some of the new releases
They won't change the game in any great way but each faction will have their own special abilities that come from Commanders, Officers, titles, and unique upgrades.
Simple example, Rebels have more Broadside ships and commanders like Akbar. Imperials have a lot more Front Arc ships and more aggro options. A ship like the Aquitens would be broken with a commander like Akbar. The new factions will have similar synergies and anti-synergies and abilities that other factions won't get.
I wouldn’t be terribly surprised if the new factions find certain defense tokens very limited compared to the GCW factions.
Spitballing, but redirects are pretty easy to come by for GCW while salvos are rare. Maybe salvos are common for clone wars and redirects are rare?
Certain CIS ships should have interesting or strong anti-squadron dice, because those classes are armed with actual physical flak guns using solid exploding shot.
I hope the CIS get some mechanics reflecting the droid fighter control systems, could be quite fun

They did a decent job in Legion so have hope.
Maybe all types of upgrades with the non-unique titles mechanic. Faction aligned with the CIS
Short of...
Syncro hangars (offensive retrofit): after you resolve a squadron command you may choose and exhaust a copy of this card on another friendly ship at distance 1-5. If you do up to 3 friendly non-activated squadrons at short-medium range from that ship may move up to distance 1-2.

I like the legion “AI” mechanic and there’s been some spitballing around the Armada equivalent

I'd definitely like to see at least a distinction between the 'early' Droid Fighters (which required a control ship) and the 'later' fighters (which didn't). Having the 'early' fighters be cheaper, but totally unable to do anything in the squadron phase at all (IE., can only be activated by a ship, period) would certainly be interesting flavor...

Given what we see in TPM compared to the ones in clone wars, I’d make the Gen1 droid fighters more effective when commanded then the later ones, but entirely dependent on being activated.

That would definitely fit in with the straight up broadside shootouts we see in RotS.
