New Recruit! Help needed!

By Darthset, in Army Building

Hello!

I have recently bought the Clone Wars starter set, and I'm wondering what kind of list I can make for a clone army.

I'm still learning the rules, so any advice is more than welcome!

Edit: should have added for a 500 skirmish list!

Read the rulebook.

Read thru the topics in this forum. Try the lists people are suggesting.

Watch some Legion BatReps or Battle Reports.

Use a list builder, like https://tabletopadmiral.com/legion/ . Or BattleScribe (my personal preference).

This is a solid clone list that only requires you to get 1 more clone unit, I recommend buying a 2nd core set to get the most value. I also recommend looking at Captain Rex as an alternative commander so you can bring another clone unit along. Some big things to look at in the rules and online: Cohesion, Clone Trooper, how Force Push works, and how activations impacts legion. I recommend looking here to start: https://legiontournamentcircuit.com/content-links/ . Just poke around and read some things that interest you.
489/500 (4 activations)
Obi-Wan Kenobi (Force Push, Force Reflexes, Aggressive Tactics, Tenacity)
2× Phase I Clone Troopers (Z-6 Trooper, Emergency Stims)
Phase I Clone Troopers (Z-6 Trooper, Phase I Clone Trooper, Emergency Stims)
Commands: •Hello There!, •Ambush, ••Knowledge and Defense, ••Push, •••General Kenobi, •••Assault, ••••Standing Orders

Edit: why I made certain list choices: Force push the best force card because it can win you the game, force reflexes is very good for triggering Kenobi's Soresu mastery and with fewer units, more chances to use it. tenacity will likely be triggered by turn 2 meaning you will get 7 die melee attacks which is good. E. Stims is very good at sucking wounds out of clone units, which are expensive and they die pretty quickly actually. z-6 bc what is a dice game without tons of variance??

Can you expand on force push?

For example pushing a unit out of an objective?

Force Push allows the user to make a speed one move with the target. So you use it on an enemy trooper unit, and you get to move that unit speed one as if it were your own unit. You can move them away from an objective, towards your units or any other legal move of which you can conceive.

Exactly! You can also use it for many things, including recohere enemy units pull units out of melee, make them face the wrong direction (creature troopers) push them out of objectives and pull them into melee. tons of good tactics with this. A particular one that I like is force pushing a unit into range of your own clone troopers who are on standby. you can then trigger all of the stand by tokens, some of which you can use against other units and some you can use against the unit you just moved, who will probably not have cover and will be in closeish range.

Thanks for the tips my dudes!
