Where are the fist game reviews?
Where are you guys? Highland is out.
My shop has not receive the Highlands yet.
I hope i get it soon!
It's due out in London on Friday so I'll be scuttling along to grab a copy
Geoff
Just ordered mine today...should arrive soon.
Anyone else think £30 is expensive for a corner piece and cards expansion...???
I know considering we only get roughly 2 a year of the larger expansions I still think its a lot for what we get in the box.
Maybe Im just having one of my off days...
I think it could be a bit cheeper. I paid 42$ today for highland. But i am a huge fan of this series so I am forced to pay any price
.
I can post some images of the game as soon as i come home. What I can say for now is that there a 4 card sleeves included.

That's not what we want. We want a full component layout, Highland deck in numbers of Events, Enemies, etc. And all the character abilities revealed, naturally
.
Hope to pick up my copy on Friday. Will then write my usual personal commentary (as per Dungeon and Frostmarch), complete with spoilers, digressions, a few stats and general musings.

I hope we get a card list soon ...
where have you found it for sale? Is there an online purchasing option anywhere?
@Velhart
What do you mean by Card list? Amount of Friend Cards, Strangers, Items etc?
@Jofus
I ve got it in the Compleat Strategist shop in New York

Yes.
I want to know what the cards are..
Can you make a card list then with all the names. sorting out by enemies, strangers etc

I am looking forward to your review
Cheers.
I'm really looking forward to this. I'm hoping it's available through FFG's online store before the weekend so I can order it for next. I can't wait to finally have 2 corner boards for 4th edition!
On the other hand, I'm 90% sure that the main board + 2 corner boards won't fit on my table anymore.
I'll make it work though.
Hey, here is a little review (I hope the pictures work):
1
On the box it says: 4 Card sleeves
but in the box there are none ![]()
2
The Board itself is very well illustrated and has also some more creative fields than the usual - Draw 1 Card-
3
The 2 (Hand of Doom, Battle Royale) out of 3 new ending cards put the game into a new level
4
There are a lot Trinkets Cards
5
The Rogue and the Sprite are nice too ![]()
P.S.
How can i make Thumbnails? ![]()
Sorry for no preview it is my first time... ![]()

Do like me and spell your table f-l-o-o-r
. Talisman with 2 corner boards still takes less space than Arkham Horror with 2 extra boards (or 3 if you have KH, which I don't).

Hi Burst,
You need to upload the pictures on a photo site,(photobucket) and then you can show them here by using the URL link.
I look forward to some pictures.

Those endings are sweet, thanks for sharing!
Hand Of doom is an interesting Command Spell variant - more powerful than the original yet more dangerous. Battle Royal is very cool too. It's interactive between players and adds some extra significance to Talismans, which I like. I can't wait to get my eager hands on these. ![]()
What is the third ending? I'm dying to know.
Here are the instructions from various Highland board spaces, as far as I can make out from burst's pic:
Precipice (x2) - Draw 1 Card; discard any cards on this space at the end of your turn (great flavour of things falling to oblivion)
Waterfall - Choose 1: heal 1 life, replenish 1 fate or gain 1 spell if your craft allows.
The Ridgeway - Roll 1 die: (1) Marauders demand all your gold, pay up or fight them with strength 6; (2-3) Rock slide - lose 1 life; (4-5) Safe; (6) Prospector leads you across, gain 1 gold.
Mountain Pass - Draw 1 card even if there are already cards on this space; on your next turn instead of your normal move, roll 1 die: (1-3) Encounter this space again; (4-5) move away normally; (6) move to Lost City
Ruined Mine - Roll 1 die: (1) Cave troll S6, (2) Wraith C5, (3) lose a turn, (4) 1 gold, (5) 2 gold, (6) 3 gold.
Glacier - Roll 2 dice, if the score is less than your combined strength and craft move to any Hills in any region; if the score is equal or higher lose your next turn.
Lost City - can't make out all the details but you roll 2 dice to see what happens
Ice Bridge - can't make out all the text but you roll 1 die to attempt the crossing
Eyrie - encounter Eagle King etc
As noted in a previous post the other spaces are normal draw-spaces: Highland Entrance, 6 x Cliff and 5 x Hills (Draw 1); 4 x Ravine (Draw 2); 3 x Canyon (Draw 3).
Quite a few changes to the 3rd Edition Mountain board apart from the increase in the number of spaces from 16 to 29, such as changes to space names and rules; also no Karak Doom space. All round, a great improvement.

Managed to work out the text of the Ice Bridge:
CROSS THE BRIDGE
"Roll 1 die and subtract the number of Followers you have. If the score is zero or less the bridge gives way and you are killed. You may ditch any number of Followers before you roll the die."
Great flavour and a good way of bringing down Character's with a lot of Followers.

Most curious to learn about the characters. Will Highlands include Dungeon-cruisers, ala Necromancer and Ogre Chieftain (Necromancer won today over Sage and Ghoul in 55 minutes, taking the Dungeon route, with Riding Horse he passed through it in 4 turns, then cashed in 17 points of Craft Followers...)?
I bought mine at www.maelstromgames.co.uk . They have a good loyalty scheme. I bought just the Reaper and Dungeon and Frostmarch through them and had £5.75 to redeem against Highland......every little helps!
