It looks interesting to me, the biggest drawback being speed 2 and a poor nav chart, lacks tokens but has a ton of shields and hull, should be easy enough to get the double arc on a large target will hit hard.

The tractor beam is more powerful than existing effects in that it can change targets speed by more than 1 and can slow to 0, are you going to want to be a 0 yourself, not all the time but there are scenarios where you can do it risk free (last first for a start) and "just" bring a target down to 1 or 2 might help you keep them in arc. Just the possibility that you can do that is going to affect what commands your opponent dials in.

RitR issue I don't see that new upgrade icon in there, so if people want to run this or the onagar might need to house rule that upgrade in ( probably as alternative to experimental upgrade) take it as your starting upgrade or do without.

The Levers of Power . It is a short story that has jumped around a lot on where you can find it........................ Looks like it is now part of T he Rise of the Empire collection. Shame it is hard to find, I really like that one.

I think Wedge looks really good, actually. Maybe because I've been flying Scurrgs and X-Wings recently.

only blue - and it allows you to change that blue into a red. so a neb escort w8th HFZ can flak for two red at long as long as the enemy squads are not engaged

Wouldn't work - must be a black die crit, so you won't be able to hit those squads with a black die at long. What I think would be really cool is something like HFZ but Ion Cannon slot that works the same as Flechettes, but allows close range for black die. So the MC80L and ships with a black anti flak who take something like the following:

Anti-Squadron Ion Cannons

"While attacking an unengaged enemy sqaudron, before collecting your die pool you may treat your anti squadron armament's black die as blue die. Blue [Crit]: you may spend one die with a [Crit] face to toggle the activation slider of that squadron. If the squadron is already activated, this has no effect."

Would make the MC80BC or the Kuat a much better threat to the squadron balls without sacrificing its die controls, since they have other options for those.

150 points for the MarkII. The Command Prototype SSD is 220 points. Space is getting tight if FFG ever hopes to include the Droid Control Ship, Malevolence, MC85, First Order Star Destroyer, or First Order Dreadnought in the game (all of which, I presume, would be priced higher than the Starhawk and lower than even the lowliest SSD). Not impossible, mind you! Just trickier now than it would have been before.

I don't think there is any need for most of these to be higher than the Starhawk.

The Lucrehulk (Droid Control Ship) and Malevolence, after all, date to the Clone Wars. While cutting edge for their time, and technology in Star Wars doesn't change fast ...by the time of the Civil War they were only in the group of 'older ships that still had some value' - not frontline units, anywhere. I could easily see them in the 100-130 range. Similarly the MC85 - about the only thing we know about it is that Leia HAD one, and was wishing for Starhawks. So it doesn't necessarily need to be higher than a Starhawk itself. Could be similar. Could be weaker. Only safe assumption is that it's "better" than an MC80, so that just means it's somewhere in the 114+ range. (Totally meaningless SWAG...MC75 to MC80 is 104 to 114, so MC80 to MC85 goes from 114 to...?124?)

Same sort of thing with the First Order's Resurgence-class. Only thing that seems clear about it is that it needs to be noticeably better than the Imperial-class Star Destroyer. Certainly that puts it in the range of points around the Starhawk, but...not necessarily better. MAYBE so (it was build nearly 30 years later after all), but...not necessarily .

And heck, for all we know, the Mandator IV is actually more powerful than a Super Star Destroyer of the Executor-type. Bigger doesn't always have to mean better, after all, especially when that many decades sit between them! (Citation: look at your phone and compare it in size and capability to your first PC) Dialog really doesn't tell us much, beyond 'There are a lot of command ships' vs 'That thing is a fleet killer'...

Actually, if you compare the armaments between the 80 and the 85, the 85 has significantly less guns. It's pretty much a Star Wars equivalent of an aircraft carrier. It blew my mind the first time I saw it, but that also gives it a more unique space. Imagine an MC80 with more hull, shields, and squadron-support capabilities, but less firepower. That sounds like an interesting ship to me.

@xanderf : Sound points on the Clone Wars-era ships and MC85 (though I would expect the Raddus to come into the game with more shields than any other ship, if only for thematic purposes, and for the Malevolence to have a Super Weapon upgrade for its large ion cannon).

However, based on everything I've read about the Resurgent and Mandator IV (in the official Incredible Cross Sections, on the StarWars.com databank, in the novelizations, etc.), I have to assume that both are more powerful (and more durable) than the Starhawk. In the case of the Resurgent, it is supposed to represent the current State of the Art in warship design at the time of the films; its turbolasers (at least some of them, if not all of them) are powered by kyber crystals.

As for the Mandator IV, yes, you're right: it could cost more than an SSD. Perhaps somewhere in-between a prototype and Executor-class. I mean, its cannons are the size of capital ships!

Of course, this is all conjecture based on fiction. Haha

Sure, I didn't intend to mean it would have more pure attack dice. Just that the secondary factors for it would push it up into that point range. I mean...higher number = better, somehow , right? If it was squad-6 with a gunnery slot, pair of offensive retrofit slots and triple defensive retrofit, for example?

There is a lot you can do to a ship to make it terrifying , justifying a higher price, that doesn't involve just adding attack dice.

Officer Agate is an exhaust , so you could only refresh one token using her. Which is probably to stop unlimited salvos with H9s.

Ah, so you'll get it twice at best before having to decide if discarding is worth it, but then in this set up it might be better to have Walex so you can spend the Evade with impunity, or if things go poorly, insurance for your other tokens. It's a lot of points to sink into whats essentially a Captain Brunson, but Mothma will help your other ships with Evade that you're likely to bring with such a set up.
