🤨 Similar to the way Ved Foslo can't 6 straight or 4 turn due to the lack of official templates for it, there are only 2 pegs for the turret arc indicators on a Huge base. Pair that with "When a huge ship is instructed to rotate its turret arc indicator—such as via the rotate Icon action rotate action—it can rotate either or both of its turret arc indicators ." from the Huge Ship appendix in the Rules Reference (Turret Arc Indicators Section on page 32) and it is certain that 2 turret weapons per Huge Ship is the maximum permitted.

Also earlier in the Turret Arc Indicators entry on page 32 of the 1.06 Rules Reference: "A Huge ship can have up to two turret arc indicators if it equips upgrades that grant it a single or double arc indicator." You can then use either the white or black turret mark indicators with a corresponding upgrade.

Since you don't have more than two indicators, and there are no rules existing for reconciling a third turreted weapon, it stands to reason that two turrets are the max allowed.

Last night I played a large game of Epic with 5 people (1500 points per side, 2x750 vs 3x500). My Tantive was excellent, though in retrospect it really needed to be able to lock at long range. Jan Ors boosting its primary was awesome, and I liked the targeting battery + turbolaser combo; all it lacked was boosted scanners for the super-long-range hail mary shots. Even then, the tantive did some solid work.

Also: TIE Fighters are near-impossible to kill. And there were a couple dozen of them. It took all 4 of my x-wings and my u-wing firing to kill just one tie... for two rounds I only killed one tie/ln per round. We did a bit better in following rounds though as our team converged and concentrated our firepower better.

Howlrunner was terrifying. I couldn't just kill her -- wing leaders are nearly indestructible -- so we focused on enduring the swarm and trying to kill it fast. And I brought Magva (pilot) to increase our survivability, but it didn't end up mattering because the opponent only rerolled one die at a time anyway. I thought I was being clever taking magva. :)

All that said, my side won. We killed just enough TIE Fighters and two TIE Punishers to pull well ahead, and their Raider didn't get into the fight in time.

A game this big took a really long time, but man is it smoother than 1E. And we had a lot of fun! I really like the wings, the way huge ships work now, etc. Everything just feels... right. So congrats, FFG, this is a fantastic improvement!

One complaint: Selfless and especially Veteran Wing Leader are able to suck damage onto already-dead ships (which won't be removed until the current initiative ends). That ended up sucking a lot of damage that should have killed ships otherwise. We've only played one game where it mattered, but it did feel wrong at the time. Maybe it's not a problem though? Hard to tell.

Here's most of my list, though YASB keeps dumping upgrades. In retrospect, swapping Tantive IV and Perceptive Copilot for Donna's Pride + Boosted Scanners would have been better.

I got to play my C-ROC (yo, yo!) for the first time last night. Ran Privateers with Stalwart Captain/ICB/BombSpecs, a pair of Baktoid Prorotypes, and a Feethan carrying Kraken, for somewhere around 200 points. Flew against Dash, Rex, and Ezra. Allllllllmost walked Dash off the board with that Ion Cannon Battery, which felt super bad because it locked Dash's arc into uselessness for most of the game. I lost my Barrage Baktoid on the first round of combat to some extraordinary variance, and my Diamond Boron Baktoid barely contributed anything to the fight. But man, that C-ROC (yo, yo!) just about soloed the game - granted it was down to four hull by the end. Now, had my opponent focused the Privateers down early? My Baktoids would have had free rein. It's a fascinating targeting priority question. I'm not sure that Huge ships are in fact balanced for casual play, but maybe? More data, please.

I want to say this was my fourth or fifth game using either Wings or Huge ships. Wings are freaking amazing - although Wing Leaders feel busted when you're trying to kill them, and feel fizzy-lovely while your opponent is trying to kill them, ha ha. Huge ships.... I've had a couple CR-90's on the board, and they feel okay, not *quite* busted if left alone, and sad panda if they get focused hard. I've only seen one Raider in action and that bastard is scary. The GR-75 feels okay; but I've only seen it once, so it needs a good deal more exploration. I've only seen one Gozanti so far; it was being used as if it were nothing more than a large-base ship and it was okay. And my one experience with C-ROCs (yo, yo!) makes me love them more and more.

I've really only had scenario play, which I think distorts the role and utility of the Huge ships. I need a good deal more experience and evidence, but the Huge ships seem like a ***** to balance, whereas Wings seem like they must *always* be a good investment. **** holidays interfering with my chances to play!
