Can you swap a nemesis out for a different nemesis, or do you have to stick with your particular hero's nemesis?

Officially, you have to stick with your hero’s nemesis. You could sub in a different one though for some variety, but the majority would be notably easier for a different hero - they are designed to counteract the hero specifically (Killmonger’s only ability for example is being immune to damage from Black Panther upgrades - he’s not much of a problem for one if the others...)

I have been considering adding the Nemesis to the encounter deck from the start of the scenario to make them show up more frequently/add a little bit of difficulty.

Hm... interesting. Would you take out the Shadow of the Past or use it as a "search the encounter deck/discard for the nemesis/side scheme"?

I'd leave that, haven't tested it yet though. I just know I've logged quite a few games and the "Parker luck" is the only thing that has brought the Vulture out (twice!) while no other hero has had to deal with their nemesis.

Okay, but this is Real. I’ve seen Vulture so much more than others.

YMMV; I’ve seen Titania more than any other nemesis, and I’ve been rotating heroes, so they should have all had a fairly equal opportunity to show up. I’ve yet to see the Vulture at all.

That Parker luck... I just got done playing Protection She-Hulk vs Expert Rhino. Shadows of the Past dropped and I cancelled it with Get Behind Me, but that would have been my first Titannia sighting.
