Prime Championship Army Help

By Lotr_Nerd, in Star Wars: Legion

I am trying to figure out what to run for a Prime Championship that happens in three weeks and I am trying to figure out what I want to play, are the new armies in a position to be semi competitive?

Or should I stick to the Rebels and Imperials?

Look at the meta if you want a chance to win!!!

Build a list you think is cool if you dont care!!!

I've never cared too much about winning and just love the competition!

So far neither GAR or CIS has won an RPQ or tourney that I have read about. There are tournament posts all over this site so it shouldn't be hard to find what you are looking for.

I won a spot at Warfaire weekend with CIS, and Luke Cook just won an RPQ with Droids as well.

You can find tournament data at Legion Tournament Circuit if you’re interested in that, but the best answer is to play what you’re most familiar with. A qualifier is not the best time to bring something you’re unfamiliar with.

I just lost at top table at Indianapolis RPQ last night with Luke/Sabine and triple sabs. You con honestly win with almost anything. You just have to play it a lot and understand your opponent's army and how he/she will play their army.

Play something you are familiar with??? Ridiculous!

Congrats on your win with the roger rogers!!!

The CIS is competitive, though the GAR is having a bit of a hard time. Rex might shake things up a bit, but I doubt it will be enough to really push the faction to the top tables. At the very least, GAR is very terrain and dice dependent. Loosing Obi-Wan in two attacks to bad die (my new record) is more than a bit frustrating, and it happens far more often than it should, but Clones can also wreck shop on people if played correctly.

At this point, play whatever you want. If you really want to win and don't care about your opponent's play experience, play your most broken Imperial Shoretrooper suppression lists, or Triple Tauntauns. If you have faction loyalty to something, play that instead.

I think that's fair. I just like to break the meta and beat players that only play meta teams. THATs fun for me ;) lol

I was really excited for Tauns then everyone starting playing them, so I stopped, and started making it a habit to beat shores and Tauns regularly. its much more fun.

I like being vindicated that CIS would be initially more competitive than GAR off the bat I recall a thread many months ago stating the opposite. I think people thought token sharing would be a lot stronger than cheap 8 hp units with full activation control. Then again shoretroopers kind of make droid activation control not as impressive as it first looked.
