Aces High - I4 - 70pts

I'm playing Aces High tonight. We're not allowed anything higher than I4. 70pt max. Bomb damage counts. Lone Wolf banned. I've hardly played Aces High yet so I'm still trying to work out what's going to matter. Here are my ideas so far. Be glad of feedback and suggestions.

rules clarification

Bomb damage is going to count apparently, so here's another one for the mix:

Lone wolf/trickshot over intimidation, though. Why help the enemy?

So I figured this was probably the most competitive. I'm assuming a bid is a good thing so I can slam re-actively. I'm slightly nervous about being blocked, hence Intimidation to really discourage people from getting in the way of my blues - does that seem worth it to you?

Sol Sixxa (46)
Ion Cannon Turret (5)
Veteran Turret Gunner (8)
Proton Bombs (5)
Proximity Mines (6)

Tons of damage output in 3 different ways. Sure it can be focused down easily, but it's 10 hitpoints, so quite tanky while you take points, and then you respawn.

That looks awful to play against.

Aces high is such a good format for getting ships on the table that dont normally make it in.

It's not clear to me that dying matters that much. It might even be a good thing to get charges back. The cool thing about that Sol build though is that you could conceivably damage three ships in one round.

Not allowed Lone Wolf. Trick shot is a good shout. Keep FCS or prioritize a deep bid?

Gotta keep FCS cause title doesnt allow you to spend the lock after slamming

Thanks everyone for the input. I flew Vynder (no EPT, +Advanced Slam - doh).

Aces High was a lot of fun. Vynder worked out pretty well overall although I had trouble once my torpedoes were spent. Ideally I wanted to die so I could get the charges back quickly but I wasn't often a target once I'd given up first damage. Switching targets got complicated as I'd need to reload and take a new target lock which I can't do in the same turn. Points scoring targets were constantly changing and it was hard to adapt quickly enough. Also, SLAM is great, but not so great in a scrum, so I'd end up taking a couple of turns reloading and turning around before coming back in again.

My thoughts were any scum ship with DMS. Come on, shoot me, i dare you. :P

Turns out.... neither of these works RAW. Had my first Aces High game last night and it turns out I missed a very important distinction in the way the rules were written. I made a fuss about it in another thread: second page

I have fun with this build. For one, a fully kitted out K-fighter. The fact that I can somewhat control the amount of defence dice makes his ability work.
