I have a wing of Mine forward dropping Hyenas to cause an issue on the front line, while my Precise Hunter Wing have a 3 ship wide bullseye with plenty of opportunity to reroll blanks. Then I have 2 Bulbasaurs, 1 to be a support for my droids (Sear) in classic form, while grievous causes problems from the flanks, and huge ships. Darth Maul assists with the TAC Droid ensuring consistent evades with the droids, and attacking key ships with his Tractor Beam for the droids to attack with later.

I am considering transferring the Tac Relay to Sear as he will remain close at all times.

I hope you like it.

I do have a C-ROC (yo yo) and replaced that for Darth Maul and a few other things. Oh, I only have 2 Bombers. :( You can always get the C-ROC for CIS. It's not like they are going to dis-allow it anytime soon.

The Wing of Hyenas with Mines.....it will really depend on what scenario you are playing. If you are playing a big brawl, I might suggest something different. You won't really get a chance to get out in front and drop stuff and get away. So, you could have your Wing of Bombers go out there and mine the front lines, but they will probably die doing so. If it's a scenario that requires the enemy to get through your lines, then that could be really good. You might not want them in a Wing at first so you can spread the Mines all over the place faster and then link up. It is more points, but I did go with Trajectory Simulator and Proton Bombs. I do only have 2, but being able to fling out a Proton Bomb at an enemy Wing, capital ship, or both sounds just too fun to pass up! It also allows you to stay a bit away from the shooting. It might even be worth it to hit a few of your own if you get enough enemy. Those Crits on capital ships will really hurt.

You might want to look at using Ordnance Hyenas instead. A Wing of 3 could be a potent force in your list. Either Missiles or Torpedoes you could really nail a capital ship or put some hurt on an enemy Wing.

I went with Precise Hunters, as well, in a Wing. I think it will be interesting to try them out in Epic as their abilities have a better chance of actually happening. Might make it worth it to spend the points on them. I also grabbed DFS-081 which is the guy that lets you spend a Calc on turning Crits to regular hits. I figure putting him in a Wing might help? It's worth a shot. I'm sure you hate it when your Vultures get winged with a Crit. Especially when it's a double hit that kills your ship!

I only have 2 Belbullabs, as well. I would love to get a third so that I can have a Wing of them.

Thanks mate. I have the Hyena wing purely because that particular formulae is the best I’ve done in a competitive setting. It really works quite well ramming/blocking ships and just dropping a mine on their windshield for 1-3 damage. But, I can see the point on proton bombs, but it is an extra 30 points for the wing. Yeah, only 2 Bulbasaurs, I’m surprised that there isn’t a wing with one for it’s leader. That would have been awesome. Those Hunters will be awesome in this setting. I think target priority will change when attacking wings.

In relation to the C-ROC. What I mean there is nothing special about the C-ROC for CIS. It’s just generic all the way. Just a band-aid solution until something tangible comes out. I don’t have a problem with that, I just think I’ll wait until something real is out. Whether it be card packs or whatever. In Aus the Huge ships are about $170. Which is steep for a ship which is 2nd tier for a faction.

It might be worth dropping down to 2 Hyenas and not be a wing. That is, if you are going to sling the Proton Bombs. You could just go with a mix of Missiles to be affordable. Cluster Missiles are great with so many ships on the table, but only R 1-2. I just found that Concussion Missiles can really hurt your Wings. Just damage a the ships a little and then they all flip to crits! It can be harsh, especially if one is a Direct Hit.

I understand what you mean about the C-ROC, but you can still build a great ship without Titles and specific Crew. It's too bad you didn't pick up a used C-ROC or one that has been sitting around for sale before the new stuff came out. Still might be possible to get that cheaper and then a conversion kit for less than what a new one might cost....maybe? Good luck!
