Quad Laser Turrets have counter 1 but presumably the normal rules for Line of Sight still apply? So a squadron may attack a hull zone whilst not being in the firing arc of that hull zone, therefore the Counter attack does not have line of sight to the squadron and cannot happen?

There was some conversation about this a while back by @ovinomanc3r, initially in relation to Devastator, but the conversation seems inconclusive.

There are clearly many situations where a squadron can attack a hull zone that then doesn't have LOS back to the squad, so it's not an edge case.

The key point seems to be whether or not the defending ship can choose which hull zone to attack from. I would assume that the counter needs to be from the hull zone that was attacked but is that not the case?

From the FAQ under Quad laser turrets page 18:

“When a ship with this card equipped performs a counter attack, the ship’s owner chooses which hull zone the attack is performed from.”

Thanks! I googled it and must have been looking at an older version of the FAQ which didn't have that second paragraph on it, just the first 🙄

However, it’s still possible to do some evil things if you have an obstacle in the right place.
